structured speech

problem during a conversation with coming up on that one word you studder, and try to get back on regular speech. I don't know what causes it, but have to practice with speaking, i've realized i have to know what im going to say......instead of franticly trying to find the right words in less than 1 second

but usally this happens when anxiety is high, like im at a party, or a event where it's required to get rawlled up, loud and pumped, and talk and have a structured conversation with alot of energy. I'll just be talking and all of sudden that terrible moment when you studder or mumble over the words, oh my god, that is my worst nightmare in social terms......

so....i've learned on good speech is you need to have structured way the mouth pronounces words, and know exactly what your gonna say, without any hesitation (anxiety in the moment)

seems like there's a social mask that's created for those situation, but truely an introvert, reserved and sometimes passive.....

anyone ever feel that way?

??

You are not alone rj. I tend to think its anxiety. My worst nightmare is being in a social situation, contributing to the conversation, and suddenly forgetting what I/we were talking about. I usually recover pretty quickly, but the fear is always there.

I would think practice and repeated exposure (within reason) would help both of us. That and proper med management.

losing your train of thought while im talking is a nightmare.....i think you have to be confident in exactly what your going to say, and somehow contruct word structure through practice, it's like this, say your on stage at the oscars, you get an award and millions of people are watching you on tv.......that moment where just go "um......well i would like thank"......"um.....alot of people, thank you good night" that would be a terrible situation to do that in.......and that's kinda how i do when im under pressure

it's confidence learning in speech and exactly what your going to say, i think it's learning the flow of words and thought will make perfect speech

I know this, too. I fear the spotlight. However small it is.
