Hi,
Hope you are all getting through the holidays okay. I'm starting to feel really good, Noa and Janice- remember the ADHD chair? Wow, I was feeling pretty damn good back then. I figure as long as the Hark the Herald Angels don't start singing to me I'll be fine.
Merry Christmas, Hannakah, and Kwanza to all!!

Sure! I was rocking back and forth in my ex-ex-ex-pdoc's chair and he told me that he's had kids that fell out of it and he labeled them ADHD. And I cracked up and fell out and posted and you said maybe it could be marketed as an ADHD chair in different colors which I thought was brilliant- maybe March or April this year??? Janice thought she had ADHD that's how it all started. I'm really glad you're well- Judy

It was 3/19 and you posted re: Today the music died. I knew the month because that was one of my best manic times.

I guess that was a glib way to ask this question---sorry. What I should ask is--is this good feeling you are having a cycling thing, or is it just that your ADs are working and you finally are getting some relief from the depression? Is it euthymic or hypomanic? I hope you don't mind me asking, Judy. I just don't know how to read this---part of me is really happy that you are feeling good (of course!!) but the worrywort in me is worried that you are becoming manic and cycling again, and worry what that might mean a little bit down the road.
I hope you don't mind me asking. You can say so if you do--I won't be insulted. And, you can ignore this question if you don't want to answer.

What a pleasant surprise to be zooming down spb and see your holiday wishes Judy. thank you. Yes, I remember the ADhD rocking chair. I don't know if I'd fall out of a rocking chair, but I just spilt blueberry wine all over myself - probably still would qualify for ADHD on my own little test.
I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. Do you get any normal time between your highs and lows? As for hearing those angels sing, I've had a few highs like that and for the life of me, no one can convince me I didn't actually talk to spirits and angels - even in the midst of a depression. I'll save this for another posting when I have more time.
Thanks for wishes, I am looking forwards to the Christmas seasons. Keep us informed as to how your doing Judy. I'll be thinking of you. Janice
hi Noa, always great to read your postings - you always give such wise and sound advice. Happy holidays to you. Janice

Of course I'm not insulted, actually my shrink just said the same thing by e-mail a few hours ago, probably in response to some very creative writing I've done to him. So hmmm, insight- well I do feel good; totally freaked watching Sally Field get put in restraints tonight on ER- very triggering for me. Well the key is to know when to cry uncle and take the depakote, etc but I do love my shrink- uh-oh Rzip where are you ? and he'll keep an eye on me. Thank you for your concern- Judy

Janice, you sound so HEALTHY! nope, never get the euthymic time but I always said I had a hyperthymic personality. When you get a chance I DO want to hear about your angel experiences, never had anything positive like that when depressed, that's when the demons show up- Judy

Yeah, watching Sally being restrained was upsetting, I can only guess at what it was like for you to watch it.
Judy, do you only take the depakote sometimes? It isn't a steady thing? Does it work when you do take it?

Hi Noa,
I only take it when I'm clearly manic (which I'm not now) and then orally load- like getting blood levels over 120 and risperdal and it works great according to everyone. Plus it's a whole lot better than being restrained with a shot of haldol in your butt. I don't take it all the time because it makes me depressed and foggy and awful- like everything else it seems. Anyway still feeling great and definitely in control here. Do you have kids- I bet you're a great Mom! Take care- Judy

THanks for the explanation, Judy. I am glad you are getting to enjoy some feeling up time, but while in control. What signals do you look for to tell if you are no longer in control? Are there things we might see here and would you want our input at all if we see them?
Thanks for the compliment. No kids, fortunately or unfortunately, depending on the day :0)

hi Judy,
I probably didn't explain myself well enough. Always when I get manic, I start to have mystical experiences (talkilng to spirits, being clairvoyant, being omnipient). But I still believe that everything that has ever happened during a manic time has been real, it's felt far more real than any other time in my life...and then every thing that any spirit or contact with any mystical being has told me, has always been true, come true, or there has been no reason to disprove it anyway.
But noone seems to know anything about manias. I read Kay Jamieson's book, and her mania was really bizarre to me (she went to mars). Mine were always beautiful, mystical experiences (and the occasional Italian shoe shopping spree- yipee!)
Anyway, i noticed you haven't been on the board for a couple of days, and you were starting to sound like you feeling pretty good. You sound like a lovely person, kind, intelligent and thoughtful when you are both depressed and manic. The essential you is always very obvious.
Keep in touch. Janice
