ECT effective for chemically induced depression?

Posted by adamie on August 14, 2001, at 17:17:03

My depression is due to a drug called accutane. It has been extremely severe at times to the point where I can hardly stand waiting anymore. So I have recently been strongly considering ECT. My depression was made worse by seratonin meds like paxil and effexor.

Does ECT work for chemically/drug induced depression? Does anyone know anything about this subject?

This subject has been throughly chomped on, digested and evacuated in previous posts, my dear.
I suggest you utilize the "Search" function of this board to get the skinny re. ECT.
If I'm not mistaken, it was in the medication part of this board that this was discussed.
