Hi there,
Life is strange, isn`t it?
I went to hospital on Tuesday and felt ... let`s say *not too well*. Ok - I donīt know whether I mentioned it before, but my very first "hospital experience" was the worst thing ever happened in my life, so I expected the same horror to happen all over again. But it was completely different! I had a room just for me, my own bath room....unbelievable! When I had settled in, a doctor politely knocked on my door, asked how I felt and then we talked about 30 minutes! He examined the hurting area beneath my ribs, but doubted it was a hernia.
They then made an X-Ray of my lung, blood tests and ultrasonic examination. All results were ok, so they decided to make a computer tomography the next day to make sure they would not miss anything.
Result: intestine, pancreas, kidneys...all organs could hardly look better. Everything ok :o)
The only odd thing is my liver. It looks pretty healthy but I have a bit *more* liver than other ones. Normally it is located at the right side of your chest, but mine reaches also the left side. They found it *intersting*, but it`s just a *variety*, nothing pathological. So - if anyone needs a bit liver... I have enough to share
(just a joke! I am happy with it where it is!) ;o)Hmmm... the only problem is, that this *whatever it is* still hurts. They are under the impression, it is most likely a nerve, perhaps irritated by a long forgotten damage of my rib. I will see a *pain specialist* in September...
At least, it`s nothing serious, I donīt need an operation and am back home. :o)
I would like to say "thank you" to all of you, who listened to my moaning a few days ago and tried to encourage me. It meant a lot to me.Thank you all :O)

hi Micha,
i am happy to hear that thing turned out to be so nice in the hospital. welcome back!
sorry to hear about your still hurting. I also happen to have an oversized liver, and it is not really a problem. I also had this pain on one side under the ribs, apparently it was due to the firm mattress we were sleeping on, or i do not know what else to think. we had this mattress for several years without a problem, and then I developed this pain. hurt like hell during the day, and i couldn't find any comfortable position at night in bed either. one morning it was particularly painful and i cried in desperation. my husband took me out that very morning and bought me an extrasoft luxurious mattress of my choice. it is so soft, welcoming, and huggy, we lovingly call it 'a whore':) it cured my pain within a week.
it was an expensive but very simple solution, but most of all, an act of love. i hope you'll find something that works for you too.
hugs
mila

Hello,
It is nice to hear you got good customer service from your local heath care store. I have had odd pains and bits, acid reflux imitates asthma, left over pain from pnemonia (did I spell that right? >:( constipation... oh, no. virus/bacteria in the gut and cramping. The worst was gallbladder and it wasnt until the blood tests came back that they knew For Sure what it was. They were just guessing. They operated on my husband on a wing and a prayer and elevated white blood count tho no concentrated pain and it really was his appendix about to break. When you think about it, with all our complaining here about stupid doctors (too bad psych stuff cant be poked at) there are generally some amazing people out there doing some amazing things.
and as my car mechanic says..sometimes ya just can't fix it 'til it's broke...
Welcome home.
Your mouse in the House.

Thanks for that suggestion! :o)
Hope, everything is going well at the moment?Micha

Yes, they were *amazing* - and cured me from my hospital phobia within 3 days! :o)

Gallbladder? Woe! :o( My mother has had her gallbladder removed last year, that must be a horrible pain, from what she told me.I am no doctor or anything, and I guess all those different illnesses you`ve gone through are *past* now, but I will happily try to help (with my little pharmacist-assistant`s knowledge) if I can. At least, I created a very effective cure against a cold by now.
< Welcome home. >
Thank you, mouse :o)Micha

Glad to hear that you had such prompt treatment. I'll send you a bottle of Canadian Whine. Here it takes months sometimes for treatment. Agh!
BEST WISHES
