I am well into my second week of alcohol free living. So far my resolve to try this is pretty steady. I have not noticed any major improvements but maybe like ADs, things are slow and insidious in happening.
James - Everytime I think about how nice it would be to have a glass of wine or a beer, I see that sign 'that's what all alcoholics say.'

I didn't say anything last week in view of the NYC tragic events. My little success seemed pretty insignificant.

greg - congratulations on not drinking for 2 weeks. i don't think you should downplay the significance of this to you, regardless of what else is happening in that crazy ol' world out there. if nothing else, now would be a particularly hard time to stay sober without some good support. in my experience, things do not get better immediately. . .life still goes on, its just that i don't have to deal with the drinking, drunkenness, and hangovers in addition to life. keep us posted! gdog.

Hey Greg!
Good on ya!!! Hang in there, cause you just might get addicted to feeling better, at least physically. That's what's keeping me going. But watch out - with the new improved Greg, women will start hitting on you! Me too and at my old age!! OK, maybe that's not an incentive to you, but you'll be told you look better, and nothing's wrong with that! Keep us posted.
Marie
