I just realised saying high & sweet, it sounds funny & not what I mean. I didn't mean it as humour but that's how I imagine myself - a violin (not fiddle!). My sweetest dream was one of me playing a violin, the music achingly high & sweet, my whole soul tied in with the melody.

Sorry, Lou. I'm a singer. There may be no place for me in the orchestra.

Beardedlady;
You can sing, "When the moon comes over the mountian" while the orchestra plays.

I do play guitar, and as I said, not too well.....there was a period there where I would stay at home with my acoustic guitar and a bottle of wine writing very depressing songs. I started my career as a singer, studying classically. (I don't sing professionally anymore...) There is nothing like music to reach inside you and express what you're going through, even when you are rendered speechless by your own hideous life. When I sing, it is like nothing else-everything dissapears; it's the only time I really truly feel removed from this earth and in some sort of state of bliss. Hmmmmm...why don't I sing more often?
My life is much better now....no more drunken nights with the guitar...but your post has made me pull out my guitar again and sing today.
Thanks!

Took me a while to get back to the board...
Ummmm....What do I do "very well"?
I'm a really gifted actress. And I do have a very lovely, powerful singing voice - I did tons of musical theater. God, you guys don't even know me...it feels weird to say that. It's easier to say that to people who already know my work as an actress. They usually are the ones telling me that and then shaking their heads saying: "I just don't understand why you aren't working more..." Ha ha..probably because for most of my adult life, I was too depressd to get out of bed....What do you do "very well"? Do you really play the piano?
Sarah
