yummy lunch!

Posted by beardedlady on May 9, 2002, at 12:36:56

I'm sitting here drinking my Nulightly/Colyte. I started at one, and I get to drink it every twenty minutes until 6:00 p.m. I've had my second yummy glass and I feel like s**t--and s***ting! But that's the point of it. Oy.

I don't know why they call it golightly. There ain't nothing light about it. I'm a little more than halfway through the gallon of salt water, and I feel like I'm going to die. I can't do anything for longer than three min--gotta go (and not lightly, either).

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh!

I guess it's "beardy-goheavily" then?! ;-) I can see why you're a professional writer - you are one clever wordsmith!

Actually, I came on here to start a thread to you, but I'll just post under the one that you've done already!

I was going to ask you, since you don't suffer from depression, anxiety or any of the wonderful (not!) related ailments (if I recall correctly you said you just have insomnia and take an AD for that), how you found this website and decided to post on it?! Just curious!

P.S. Beardy, another thing...! » beardedlady

How come you're having the GI tests? I hope there's nothing seriously wrong going on? (what's an endoscopy anyway?) Best wishes 2 U and keep me/us updated on how the exams go/results. :-)

Sorry for your discomfort. But this too shall pass » beardedlady

I guess you'd rather not get into why you have to have the GI tests (since you didn't answer my threads here) sorry ... didn't mean to pry ... just concerned that's all. Hope all goes well.

Well, I have a number of problems, Janelle, if you want to get right down to it. But it's a chicken-egg thing: did the anxiety give me insomnia? did the insomnia give me anxiety? did lack of sleep lead to depression? did depression lead to lack of sleep?

I found PB doing a search for a new drug I was trying, Gabitril, to see if anyone had success on it. But I didn't like it, and others suggested that Serzone might not kill me if it hadn't already, so I reduced my dose but stuck with it.

My husband thinks I am a hypochondriac. Both my dad and my sister are. Unfortunately, hypochondriacs don't usually get that way without reason. I had an unusual reaction to an antibiotic (a relative of Cipro) that made my body ache for two months, and, after one of those months, I got dizziness that never went away. These are things you can't see or do tests to rule in, only rule out.

Anyway, now I've got some GI troubles, possibly an ulcer (endoscopy's for that) from taking so much Ibuprofen, which have kept my aura migraines at bay since October.

Oy vey. I'm going to bed. I'm starving.

You didn't MENTION the ibu-forkin-profen! That stuff will burn a well-documented hole in your stomach! Lit'rally!

No Imitrex?

Beardy,

Didn't realize that you DO have some depression and anxiety going on as well as insomnia. Is Serzone the only med you're currently taking?

And I'd have to echo what Zo said about prolonged, continuous use of Ibuprofen doing a major number on a person's stomach - a friend of my sister became pre-ulcerous(?) due to taking Ibuprofen in this manner for some kind of pain she was having after giving birth.

I feel your pain, beardy. I had a colonscopy when I was 16 (oh my gosh. That was 5 years ago-- I feel old now.). Anyway, be glad they gave you nulightly or whatever b/c my sadistic doc made me drink Fleet's Enemas-- straight. It was truly the most disgusting, horrible experience ever. Good luck on your tests. Hope they come out as well as mine did.
