Why do words never come out right??

Posted by NikkiT2 on June 19, 2002, at 7:16:54

Just seen my pdoc.. well, it was the first time with a new one as my old one moved on to pastures new (he was a student but so wonderful!)

Anyway, first appointment so had to start from scratch again.. I tried explaining everything with help of osme notes I wrote, and it all came out as "I;m fed up"!!!! That doesn't even begin to explain how I feel so why did it just come out like that?

I did end up in tears at ine point and how could I tell this new doc I was crying cos he's not as lovely as my old one... he was vry ncie and treated me like an equal when I explained I always use the net to find out treatement option etc..

God I hate change *sighs* I just hope I get as used to him as I did my old one

Just needed a good moan!!

Words only seem like they didn't come out right. They usually come out the way they do for a reason. But you can't expect to play catch up in one visit, so you'll have some other chances to bring your notes! Don't beat yourself up about it. Just bone up for the next exam. During the week, write everything down that you want to be sure to say. (I actually gave a doctor a list of symptoms once! There were so many!)

I know.. its just so hard to start building that relationship again isn't it.. my old one really understood me.

I did like the fact he didn't "baby" talk me and was quite technical about how the new meds work compared to old ones etc. I think he will be good for me, but I adored my old one!!

Think next time I'll wite something out better that I can hand to him to read instead of me trying to explain it all again!
