Hey there,
My pdoc has been borrowing money from me each visit, and now he owe me $200 dollars. He sayes he needs it for continuing education and to pay the drug reps to keep making my medicine zyprexa. He mentioned that he has not borrowed much and most docs ask for more.
How much money does you pdoc borrow from you?
Thanks,
Cindylou

Hi Cindylou,
> How much money does you pdoc borrow from you?
NONE! It's unethical and grounds for revocation of his license. DEMAND all your money returned immediately, go to another pdoc, and report the old one to authorities.
This is serious, and he cannot be allowed to get away with it.

My Pdoc has never borrowed a cent from me. Drug reps GIVE the pdocs samples of the medications so they'll end up prescribing them, there are no charges that I have ever heard of; however, it may be different in your state-although I highly doubt it....
His continuing education is HIS responsibility, not yours...that really ticks me off.
If your pdoc has a 'boss', take it to them, if not, file a complaint with the Board of Healing Arts in your State. Your psychiatrist is being unethical, and maybe illegal as well.
I'm sorry to hear this has happened to you, try to collect anything he owes you. You don't happen to have proof do you? Tell him you need a receipt because it's needed for tax purposes and see what he tells you...if you DO have one, definitely check it out....

No borrowing, but perhaps non refundable fees. Not postage, but perhaps shipping and handling...Maybe his is a non-profit activity, tho, i dont think he has his non-profit status, and so I couldn't deduct the contributions....I don't make enough to deduct the donations anyway, so it doesn't have tax consequences.
No, no borrowing. The money I (and the self insured employer who covers me) pay the doctor, I never expect to see it again. I figure it goes to pay the rent, feed him, his spouse and kids and church, the lady at the front desk and, oh and don't forget the malpractice insurance.
Besides, if someone wanted to borrow money from me, they would have to fill out a contract and sign it in front of a notary with witnesses in addition to having a payment plan and at an interest rate as close to usery as possible. Gotta make it worth the trouble, some way, some how.
