Someone pointed out the thread in PB 2000 about you finding love. I especially liked the part of you feeling comfy, safe & warm then falling asleep. I'm posting this poem for you & your love to think of in the future.
- - - - -A DECADE
When you came, you were like red wine and honey,
And the taste of you burnt my mouth with its sweetness.
Now you are like morning bread,
Smooth and pleasant.
I hardly taste you at all for I know your savor,
But I am completely nourished.

Shar
Somehow I totally missed the thread Isom is talking about until now. I'm really happy for you. It doesn't seem like that long ago you were debating whether you should join this group your therapist started when a precondition to membership was a pledge not to kill yourself during the next year. I know all too well how tough it is to shed yourself of suicidal thoughts, even in non-crisis times, but being really wrapped up in another person certainly helps. Just enjoy the moments.

Thank you both for your warm good wishes. Iso, what a beautiful poem. Mair, what a great memory you have!
It is rather amazing that at 50 I'd find myself HERE. I think the biggest difference it's made vis a vis my depression is not that I'm un-depressed, but that my horizon is not bleak and desolate.
Mair, you are right that my hold on life for some time has been pretty loose. I expect I'll always have depression in my life, and he will too, probably (his own, not just mine)--it's the horizon that makes waking up worthwhile.
I am excited, feeling like I'm standing at the gateway to a grand adventure. And like any traveling worth doing, it's the ups and downs that keep it interesting.
Your well wishes mean a lot to me.
xoxo
