Does anyone else buy Easter candy for their grown children? I still get those gourmet jellybeans and Cadbury eggs for my son (21 last year) because he always loved them so much. I hope he doesn't think I'm a schmuck.

Gracie,
You sound like such a wonderful mother. I am 24 and married, yet my mother still makes me an Easter basket every year and it totally makes my day. I am sure your son is so grateful for a mom like you...

I second that--25 and married--and mom still sends the basket, cross-country. That's what mom's are for, right? And you've got to love them for it!

Of course! Giant solid Easter bunny was so cheap, I bought them all one & then one for myself. His ears are only nibbled off mine but my sons have almost finished theirs. =!!= (my poor attempt at a bunny - if only this site allowed HTML formatting, I could do a good one)

Gracie,

My mother-in-law always sends easter candy to my wife and me. And we are each double your son's age. :-)
Licorice jelly beans and cadbury eggs rule.

> -GracieMy mom still gets us Easter candy, and we are all in our 30s and 40s! She gets it for the grandkids, too, but she never forgets her own children. It's a mom thing! Actually, even though I'm 38 and live 1000 miles away from her, I kinda like it. Reminds me that I'm her kid (in a positive way).

Gracie,
I don't think anyone is too old for Easter goodies. I enjoy them myself! Your son will be happy and grateful if you continue to indulge him ;)
Even a former athiest work colleague used to scour the drastically discounted Easter goodies the week after!

Yes ma'am... I just want to add one more to the list of people who receive Easter candy from their parents. I am 24 and live 800 miles from my parents, my older sister is 27, my younger sister 22, and we all get candy by mail each year. Mine came yesterday and I was very excited!!

I do it! My son is 27, and I think he still really likes getting one. What's actually in the basket has changed over the years- because he's in grad school, and extremely busy, I include things like stamps, rubber bands, catnip for his girlfriend's cat, etc., but the basic important ingredient is still chocolate. Having done it this long, I think I'll just keep right on!
