Sayonara, Bennifer!

Posted by Tabitha on September 14, 2003, at 14:01:37

Did you all see the reports that Ben & J.Lo broke up? I'm stunned. As much as I was sick to death of them flaunting their romance.. it's a little distressing that they couldn't sustain the fairy tale image for a couple years at least.

My faith in fake hollywood publicity love is shaken to the core..

Aww, Tab, I'm sorry you're so shaken up.
You mean, her previous 3 week marriage didn't just give you a little tip off?

Well if you get really disturbed and teary in public you can always just say that you're sad about Johnny Cash, that might get you a little more public sympathy.

I thought maybe Bennifer was a favorite old doll that you sold at your garage sale.

Urrrggg..J LoWWW and Ben boy had egos too big to fit in the same city! Speaking of Cash, you want to see something VERY emotional, almost haunting?
Watch his last video ever made (last year I believe) which you can find at:
http://www.losthighwayrecords.com/johnnycash/video/440063339_02_100k.asx (don't forget to 'unbreak' the addy) The song is called "Hurt" (It's actually a cover of a Nine Inch Nails song..) but man, I was forever changed after seeing this.

Thank you Jay -- that is indeed haunting (one of those songs I am going to have trouble getting out of my head). Especially given that it was his very last video. As if that is the culmination of "Ring of Fire", "One Piece at a Time", and all that has gone before.

No kidding Jay. That was the most harsh self-portrayal of a man looking back over his life of fame and excess that I've ever seen. It was powerful. Changed me too.

I didn't want to say.."glad you liked it"..heh..as that's not really the point of course.

Yeah, and I do remember the first day I saw that video....and I was having a *really* bad day.(Like, who of us has good ones??..lol!!) I broke down in tears, and like most of us, the memories, good and bad, of the past just haunt. There is somethiing important in there..though...I think, especially that ability to think in such depth, detail, even when the water is all murky and dark. Tears hurt sooooo bad, but da** it, there *has* to be more...something about all of the pain, hurt, sorrow. I don't buy it, that this pain exists "just because..."...even if that's what I thought 10-15 years ago. Something...Somebody....Somewhere...I don't know.

Peace...and best to you all..as I am always thinking of you guys, my fellow 'sufferer's', and the universe suddenly isn't as lonely.

Jay
