Christina Ricci!

Posted by Destroyo on November 14, 2003, at 12:26:19

She's my PC wallpaper, smiling impishly as she wraps her sensuous lips around a straw thrust phallically into a can of Diet Coke.

She's my ultimate Goth fantasy.

Her career's in the toilet, though. Her magnum opus, "The Prozac Diaries", was made two years ago, and as far as I've heard, has yet to be released.

I don't know her (though I wish I did, particulary in the biblical sense), but when people who she's worked with speak of her, they generally praise her intelligence to the heavens....and then find some excuse to change the subject. That's to say, despite her fantastically sweet looks, she may well be an uberbitch.

But that's alright. I've been a bad boy, a VERY bad boy, and I deserve to be disciplined.

I'm a girl and not goth, but I can see your attraction. When I play "if I were gay who would I sleep with" it's Winonna Ryder for me. Talk about someone with a bad reputation in a career slump.

Male fantasy, alas the late Cary Grant as he looked in Philadelphia Story. I want to be Katharine Hepburn. Hmm, is it weird that who I want to be and who I want to snuggle with are both dead? Maybe I am goth.

When I saw The Addam's Family with my ex before last, he called me Wednesday forever after.

In keeping with my ever-escalating depravity, though I've not got a gay bone in my body, if I WERE gay, my fantasy would be Jeff Chandler. Long after his tragically early demise from freak complications connected to routine back surgery, his preoccupation with women's clothes was publicized in a most embarrassing manner. Jeff was Jewish, but he looked for all the world exactly like a quintessential Native American. Boy, did HE ever stand out in a crowd. And he was an incredibly nice guy. Everybody loved him.

Kate Hepburn sure was talented and funny, but I don't think she and I would have been "simpatico".
I saw her on "Larry King Live" a decade or so ago, and said she: "Always remember, it's fun just to be alive". Oh, reeeaaalllllyyyyyy ! ?

...and Larry King said hello to me the night before last. The coincidences are overwhelming.

You know Larry King? He's got a terrific, warm, engaging, personality. But he's exhibited a certain flakiness lately regarding "mediums" such as James Van Pragh and John Edward (I love the way they skewered Edward on "South Park").

I used to watch Larry's show a lot more than I do now. Used to be, he was more into politics and current affairs. But at some point a few years back, he switched to a more "showbiz" emphasis.

I don't know him. I was standing in front of a restaurant waiting for someone and he walked in. I smiled, he smiled, he said hello, I said hello. The plastic surgery in front of me asked her sugar daddy if that was him and said she couldn't believe how old he looked.

I thought he looked good. Grey, but good.

He's old enough to have personally interviewed freakin' Moses. If he looks any better than a leprous cadaver, he's not doin' half bad.

Especially considering he's still making babies.

My ex had a straw boater. I should have taken it.

My mother went to Whitefish Bay High School in Wisconsin with Jeff Chandler. Before his name was Jeff Chandler, of course. I am still mad at her for throwing out her year books.

I have met Larry King. I used to be in cable TV marketing and Larry did a live show (with former president George Bush) in one of our communities. I was invited to be in the audience and meet Larry after the show.

He walked in the room, mumbled a few hope you liked the shows, grabbed some munchies and split. As we were standing there going, uh, I thought we could talk to him, a Turner Networks Rep ran and got him back.

I did get to talk with him and have a photo autographed, but everyone knew he was doing it because he was forced to.

You never had to force Jeff Chandler to be nice to his legions of fans. What was his real name, anyway, Menachem Cohensteinowitz? :-)

OK, I had to Google this as I was like "who in blazes is Jeff Chandler???".

http://www.classicstars.com/jeffchandler/main.html

Original name: Ira Grossel

The only movie he acted in I've seen (and only snippets of, at that) would be Merrill's Marauders (they have it on AMC every now and then).

DSCH; he was no Lawrence Olivier....

....but, he never pretented to be anything, that he wasn't. A hollywood Star. Y'know what I mean? Some of those guys, they cop an attitude, right?
Most of us humanoid drones (especially if he'd been "Destroyo plowboy from Tennessee") know all too well their intellectual and artistic limitations. So did Jeff. But he was one of the good ones. I know, I kind of like to read the old screeds from the Hollywood scavenger columnists, but Jeff, he was one of the GOOD ones. Make no mistake, I HATE him with every fiber of my being for being SO HANDSOME....but what'cha gonna do?

You want HOT? How about Toni Colette in "The Hours"?

I'm young too, and I love older men! My faves: Robert Reford (yummy), JFK, Jeremy Irons, Kevin Spacey, and Barry Bostwick (the mayor off Spin City). :)

JFK...not attractive! I love his jaw line! Plus, that voice of his couldn't have been better. :) I suppose I will have to let you keep Mr. Spacey (with hesitation of course). Thought of another one too, Clark Gable.
