Toot, there are really no stupid or idiotic questions that can be asked here. That is the purpose of these boards, to share information, and help people understand what's going on in their life. Please don't hesitate to ask for explanations or "translations" especially if you are fairly new here. I really doubt if anyone is going to be jumping around, pointing their finger at you, and laughing out loud (unless you are MEANING to be humorous). We all had to feel around for a while when we first got here to pick up on the "lingo". That's why a lot of people "lurk" for weeks, even months w/o posting, so that they can get a feel for things. So, please don't feel out of place here, or embarrased to ask questions that may turn out to be simple terms we all use here. It's just a culture. Work your way in and join the fun!

Thanks for the list! I had a funny feeling it was the shrink but didn't want to assume. I really appreciate this website not only to be able to ask questions but to see that I am not alone.....

This reminds me - I recently told my pdoc that we on the board refer to psychiatrists as 'pdocs', and he found it entirely too amusing! He's not up on web lingo either! He said, "I thought a 'pdoc' was a urologist! ha!" I just grinned - he can be so cheesy sometimes!
It took me a while to catch on to some of the terminology used here, and I still see things sometimes I'm not familiar with!

>Ya know, If I was not seeing a shrink at the time when I joined PB(psychobabble) then I too would have assumed "primary care physician". Its just that I got myself a shrink before I stumbled upon PB so It just seemed likely that pdoc is psychiatrist rather than PCP.
Interpretation is a consequence of experience
Go Figure.cheers.
