I have an empty folder on my desktop that I deleted..but it reappeared.
I can't rename it or move it- it just clones itself .
I deleted it in DOS and I thought it was gone but it returned-it seems to completely disappear for a short while then comes back.
I checked computer for virus.
I'm using win xp (it's a new pc)

Sorry honeybunch, I don't know how to fix that. I had undeletable files before and never figured it out. I just ignored it and everything else seemed OK. Maybe look on the Microsoft site? Hang onto those kidneys.

I don't know if this is the same thing, but there is a virus out there that can duplicate file names and cause havoc with you internet connection. Download (for free) the small program and patch here:
http://www.merijn.org I am *no* computer-literate genius, but I've had problems with this before. It may or may not be the same thing...but it won't hurt to try it.Best wishes,
Jay
