I'm so fed up with being so fed up! It's been six weeks now, and aside from everything else, I'm just bored.

Yes, yes, yes...we have all been there. And don't you hate it when some well-intentioned (or not) person says something stupid like, "well, If I never had a great career like I did, I would be depressed too!" (quite obviously implying that I do not and never did have a great career on top of suggesting a stupid remedy for depression), or "Maybe you need to give more to other people", or "You need to do more for yourself, put yourself first!" or "see an edochronologist!" "see a homeopathic doctor!" "cut sugar out of your diet!" "more exercise"....the list goes on and on.
WHat if your brain chemistry is just OFF?
Are you suffering from depression, James Hastie, and are you not medicated? Is that what I remember from your other post?
The best thing about depression is that it ends and you will feel on top of the world, and also there is good treatment for it.
Hang in there. We all know where you are at.

Thanks for your kind words of support, it made all the difference.
I am up again (at least for the moment, but have been for six hours now, so looking good), and it is just bliss. I wouldn't say it's worth it for this feeling, but this feeling now is a very big consolation.. I bet there are few non-depressives who just enjoy being alive as much as we do.
For the record, I am medicated (60mg of good ol' Prozac), but my doctor and I are looking at switching to Effexor, when I am well enough to endure the switch. But that's another subject for another board.
To all of you out there still going through hell, I know exactly how you feel, and my thoughts are with you all. As holymama was kind enough to remind me "Depression ends"
Thanks again,
James
