Life is beautiful

Posted by gardenergirl on February 17, 2004, at 10:47:19

I was just sitting here at my desk. It's a bit dreary outside. Just now a cardinal hopped onto the tree outside the window on the only part of the tree that I can see. With the winter-bare branches silhouetted against the gray sky, it looks like a beacon of color.

Things like this remind me of simple beauty. What reminds you?

Believe it or not, it's when I look at the perfect beauty of my cat (or any cat for that matter). They are always perfectly dressed, and are content to sit for hours, moving only to follow the sun as it tracks across the floor. It's beautiful to me because of its simplicity. I do ignore their mental capacity!!

Rainbows ALWAYS take my breath away and bring me such a feeling of joy. We are having lots of rain here in the SF Bay Area right now so I should be seeing some soon...

I'd have to say people... If I'm down and I force myself to go to class, I see beautiful people everywhere.... Going to class, driving to work or lunch, going into the gas station. I love talking with them, or just smiling at them... Nothing brightens my day more than having a conversation with a stranger.... I love them, you know..

BTW, have you ever watch the film Life Is Beautiful??? I honestly think it's my fav... By far! It's so great! I wish I wa that guy, spreading joy in a rough situation...

Hey thanks for such a great thought. I love watching the clouds from my office window. And sometimes I see hawks hunting or riding the thermals from the parking lot. I especially love it when the clouds get all stormy and unusual looking. Right now they look very wind sheared.

Simple beauty-

It was snowing here a few weeks ago- and it was during rush hour traffic, so it was very sloppy. I saw a man in a wheelchair unable to get up a slushy and icy hill. I asked Kevin to oull over, and he did. Before I could get to him, a truck driver pulled over and ran to him and helped him up the hill. That's beautiful.

I also love the smell of fresh cut grass.

I love it when my little kitty curls up on my chest and lays her hard on my shoulder and I can hear her purring- so content to be with me, at total ease....

Another simple beauty- kids amazement over everything- a new word, being happy to count to 20, seeing everything as something to play with....
