OK, listen up Raz. I know you think this is cool, and you're excited about it. That's fine. But I think most of the babble posters have made it clear that they don't really think it's such a great idea. Sleep deprivation is something that a lot of us don't find amusing. We've suffered because of it in the past. And we've heard about it being damaging, or been damaged by it ourselves. We don't generally support activities that are potentially damaging to yourself, if they're avoidable.

So, go ahead and do this if you'd like. I hope it brings you whatever good things you're expecting. And I hope that you have a lot of support when you do this. But, please don't repeat this post here anymore.

If other babblers diagree, please let me know. I feel like I'm probably speaking for others here, but I only know that this is how *I* feel.

Pegasus thanks for speaking up. Having been sleep deprived for most of November and December because of a life change I don't find it amusing or impressive for someone to do this on a whim. I have heard of people going on Vision Quests with a group of people but that is with a spiritual purpose in mind and it is supervised.

Being an insomniac most of my life, I can tell you that sleep deprivation is horrible. You think it'll be 5 days? You're body is going to punish you for a lot longer.

We at Babble want people to strive for health. What's motivating this stunt? I have a feeling it's for some attention... are you in need of a friend? There are LOTS of people here to talk to... you just open up and we'll be there :)
