Oh God, I am so sad. Too many good people are taking their lives. I am full up with the saddness....
So maybe he jumped from the boat?
Oh the cold waters enfolding him. I wonder if maybe he said, "man this is way too cold!"
I am very disturbed.
He was so special. Oh boy I am sad.

I read about it in today's paper. I really loved his work, and will miss him. It's so sad.

I knew he had been missing for some time, and I'm sure no one was surprised that he was found dead, consider what he had been going through recently. But, oh, I'll miss his work! My husband and I can recite "Monster In A Box" and "Swimming to Cambodia" word for word. I can't tell you how many times we've said to each other, in a Russian accent, "This could be true."

Spalding Gray's family

In whatever is your way, please send Mr. Gray's family prayers and support. The loss of a loved one to suicide is a particularly devastating pain.

I would imagine that their grief would be compounded by the inquisitive press. Let's make his fame work in his favor by using this place to reach more people who can offer more prayers for his surviving loved ones.

Fans of Mr. Gray could remember him by making a donation to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at www.afsp.org
