I was going out of the house to shop for plants after fruitlessly searching on the internet for information on companion plants for Rosemary.
After trying to find the local nurserys in the phone book. No luck.
Then I got so conflicted that I couldn't walk out the door or do anything.
I forced myself out to a store across the street and freaked out because it was way too crowded.
The noise, the confusion and all the people was way too much for me. I ran out the door, good thing too because I forgot to bring any money with me.
I crawled back to the safety of my home, put my favorite CD into the player and went directly to PB and this board. I am listening to the sound of waves breaking softly on the ocean sands. I can look outside and feel like life can go by without my being in the thick of it right now. I can take a rest. Time out.

This happens to me quite often when I have to go find something in a store. The people make me feel like I'm suffocating, like I am really alone, and I get overly upset at poor service. It's enough to keep me in the house, too.
(I grow oregano and mint in the same pot as rosemary. So far, everything is thriving. This is the first time I haven't killed a rosemary plant - a remarkable achievement considering my brown thumb.)
Oh, and my cd's are of the Pacific Ocean (it definitely sounds different from the Atlantic :)), wolves, loons, rainforest, and the Great Lakes. Oh, and Gregorian chants.

**What is it that is too much about all the energy?
I am and get so overwhelmed....I just don't understand it?

***I think I must have a brown thumb as well, my Rosemary plant did not survive the winter. I was so sad. I will try Oregano...I like that idea and I guess Sage too.

***I would dearly love to get some names of your CD's especially the Gregorian chants. I love music...it lifts my spirit. God knows I need that. We are currently listening to Mozart, eating lightly seared Tuna and rice noodles....sipping wine and the sun is in it's glorious golden hue. What a delightful night. I am happier.
Thanks for your uplifing reply.

Gregorian chant: "Chant" by The Benedictine Monks of Santo Domingo de Silos.
I also recommend "Adiemus" Songs of Sanctuary, and for the ultimate in soul soothing, any Eric Satie piano pieces (Gymnopedie, Nocturne, etc.)
I react quite emotionally to music, and when I find something that calms me, it's as good as any drug.

Thank you, I'm going to go out and search for these CD's. I love Eric Satie so much...I was just thinking about getting a piece that I used to do modern dance to.
What a lovely way to start my day.
thank you.

i think that what you're doing can be a good thing. i love to use music to express how i feel or calm me down. i have a CD that plays 5minutes and 20something seconds of calming, peaceful music with a woman who has a beautiful voice singing in japanese. it's the soundtrack to Trigun if anieone has heard of it. just those few minutes make a big difference for me.
BEWARE: just kidding, but do be careful, one of my problems, as i have said manie times, is that i remove myself from problems instead of fixing them. don't be like me and run away from everiething. what you are doing now i like though. it's a good answer and shart escape from the world. if onlie it could last forever.
This is the end of the thread.
