"Once again we face a paradox, for it appears that softening your heart and gently tending its wounds will protect you from evil. Building a fortress and defending yourself behind it will only make you more vulnerable. Healing your heart is the single most powerful thing you change do to change the world. Your own tranformation will enable you to withdraw so compeltely from evil that you contribute to it not by one word, one thought, or note breath. This healing process is like recovering your soul."
When I read this in a book of quotations it spoke to me so deeply that I had to share it.

In the face of such uncertainty, believe in these two things - you are stronger than you think and you are not alone

I had thought it was number of posts, but someone just let me know that the FAQ says it's a function of file size.
So I think we need loooong posts.
Still, I would think this *should* have done it.

I've been wanting to do some reading and remember being told about this person in the past. Are his books worthwhile? If there is more than one, any ideas which to start with?

In reply to Deepak Chopra - good reading?, posted by Skittles on September 6, 2004, at 22:55:02
I've only read one of his books, and I suspect it might be kind of different from his other stuff. It's "The Return of Merlin" and uses the Camelot story juxataposed against modern day to demonstrate honor, conflict both inner and outer, evil, and relationships. He explains a lot of the metaphors in the introduction, which is good, because otherwise they would have really gone over my head. I loved this book.

I've only read bits and pieces of his writings, but everything he says seems very common sensical.
