I can draw people to me when I shop. Whatever I am looking at, someone else wants to look at that same thing. It happens everytime I go shopping. It's amazing!
Today I was in a relatively empty Target store looking at some stuff. This woman came over and stood right next to me. I tried to ignore her, and then she literally started reaching in front of me to pull things off the shelf just inches from my face. No "excuse me" or "pardon me"--nothing. So irritating! I walked away and stopped to look at something else, and a minute later...here she comes again. I gave up and left the store. I know it sounds petty, but it happens to me all the time.
I have independent verification of this phenomenon. My ex used to tell me that stores should pay me to go in and look at all the expensive things, so that other people will want to look at them too. ;)
Ok, I'm done venting now!

> Ok, I'm done venting now!Am I okay with stating the inference that you are probably very attractive, or tastefully presenting yourself? It may be that other women (or men....you don't say if it's a gender thing)like the way you look, and want to see what you're focussing on. Imitation is a form of flattery, as they say.

>Lar,
How sweet of you to infer such a thing! :)
It is mostly women that do it, but it happens with literally everything--not just clothes or appearance-type merchandise. It even happens in the grocery store!
Maybe I just look like I know where the good deals are! ;)

I share this mystical power with you. I just have to stand near something I want to take a look at in a store, and it will draw someone to it. I have used it as a ploy to get someone away from something I want to see. You stand across the aisle, then they come over, and you quick, cross the aisle and get where you want to be.

LOL!
It's funny that you mention that. While this woman today was standing on top of me, I accidently knocked something off the shelf onto her foot (I swear, it *was* accidental and it wasn't a heavy item). I didn't apologize either, which is *very* unlike me as I am normally very polite. But I figured if she wanted to crowd me like that, she deserved to have something fall on her foot!.oO(gosh, that sounds almost evil!)

LOL- I would try that, but they would just follow me! :)

This happens to me all the time too. I tend to examine labels intently or shop with a kind of intensity - before long, someone sidles up beside me to see what all the "excitement" is about. Suddenly, they too, must have double-sided scotch tape, a plastic funnel, a package of bird suet, and an odd piece of plastic that has uncertain applications.
Same thing happens if I look up into the sky. Others will stop what they are doing, drive their car into the ditch, stampede to a good vantage point and look upward. I feel kind of guilty if I'm just looking at a cloud. In the midwest you need a good reason to look up - a tornado funnel or, at least, a menacing-looking cloud.

you all have given me my 2 pm laugh!
i may have you beat tho on the clothes shopping side of things. Here in Phoenix we have the only Nordstroms Last Chance store in the nation. This is where all the returns from all the Nordstrom stores go. A lot of this stuff is incredible designer pieces and $10 or so a pop. If you want to see women watching what other woman are looking at, this is the place. The salesclerk will quietly put out a load of bras. I'll sidle over nonchalantly and BAM! like they can sense a kill they encircle me. There are many techniques i have learned there to keep people from infringing on my lingerie. A cart on one side and my pointy elbows on the other. I have also learned to be rude. The person that stands at the rack the longest without moving makes the interloper go around them, thereby establishing territory. Like dogs do.
