All moved in...

Posted by alexandra_k on October 30, 2004, at 5:30:49

Unbelievable. What an exhausting day. I have finally made the move back to good old self-catered student accomodation on campus. I had forgotten just how .... functional student accomodation really is. We don't have grad accomodation specifically so I've moved on in with the undergrads right during their exam period.

UPSIDE: Computer lab access about 4 meters from my room :-)
Nice ranch slider which opens out onto a nice smoking step (or three)
SELF CATERED (YAY! It's coffee and coke for me and there is even a vending machine for coke about 8 meters from my room).

DOWNSIDE: I live my life on campus anyway. Do I ever go anywhere else???
I am feeling old... older than the people here.
And I am slightly anti-social. Sigh.

Still, all things considered it was a good decision to move as I was getting pretty unhappy where I was. Pleased to be moved in. Exhausted. MUST WRITE THESIS EEP.

It's cool to know what you are doing.
Welcome to your new home.
Let's have a housewarming party.
Let's see what could I bring you.....
Hummm...
I know I'll give you a blue betta fish and he will be named by you.
He won't need much attention but will give you the full indigo bib (he is so confrontive...and so tiny, and did I mention dependent?) when you put your face too close to his home.
I would give you a rainbow, or the dew, or a spiders web...but maybe a fish will do?
It's always good to see your post.
Jai your buddy

I have a bowl
And a little plastic turtle in a castle
But no fish.
I had Frege the 2nd and Kripke the 2nd
But I gave up on fish by the time I got to
Frege the 5th and Kripke the 9th.
I am a fish killer :-(
I am not proud to admit that
I kill them with kindness
And too much food.

But I'll call him Joe
(maybe its bad luck to name a fish after dead philosophers)
And I won't feed him too much
I won't
I won't
I promise.

Thankyou, Jai
You always brighten my day.

feeding fish....I am guilty of the same..: )

I was over feeding my fish too. Luckily the fish spit out the food.
Now I feed him only 2 pellets in the am and 2 in the pm. He doesn't always eat them. The old food makes the water dirty. so I have to change it once of week...this is a harrowing experience for both fish and me. I get a little tense.
I guess this is not the easiest pet in the world...come to think of it this takes way too much energy.
forget the fish get a screen saver with a fish on it...much safer and very calming.
I have been playing Myst IV....talk about frustration.
My best to you on this sunday morning.
Jai
