hi all,
I don't have too much $$ to spend this holiday season, and I'd like to make (or buy) some inexpensive gifts for family.Do y'all have recommendations on gifts ideas that you've received or given? something that's classy & fun & nice (food items OK), just not frightfully pricey.
thanks! :)

i made my drum teacher a double chocolate cheesecake and he was impressed. :) said it was sweet. it was! (i licked the batter) it was relatively easy and most people do not make cheesecake, so it's impressive. for a food item though, cheesecake is expensive to make. (i think the ingredients for one cake can cost around $10-$15).
i am a big fan of baking gifts. i remember when i was dating my last boyfriend, his dad turned 70. the family had a tradition of giving X number of something (where X is the person's age) on a birthday. so it was 70 cookies for his dad. fun to make and you get to eat some extras.

whenever a gift is needed
i go to the local iga and pick up a "jelly belly" box..
it has about 10 of 40 flavours..
neatly organized in their our sections..
it is about $20..
their are smaller ones too..
it is always a hit to who ever receives..
