I don't know if this is ther "correct" place to post this, but I am sleeping was too much. Last night I slept 12 hours. The nigth before it was less, but I have been sleeping an average of 10 hours a night.
I don't feel depressed, I am not sick, I just want to sleep and sleep. I have no other symptoms.
I know this is vague, but does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
ShortE

Oh ShortE, I would give anything for a couple of hours of your sleep. I am managing 1 to 2 hours a night, and those couple of hours are so fraught with dreams I may as well not have bothered.
8 hours is said to be healthy, so if you are sleeping 10 hours (and can afford to), I don't think you should be concerned. Are you taking any vitamin supplements? If however, you are feeling really tired during the day, even after such a long sleep, you may want to visit a doctor. Even though you say you don't feel depressed, is there perhaps some stress you might be trying "escape" from?

I am doing the same thing, but averaging 12 hours, with 14 being the worst. The weird thing is, I can't sleep between 5am and sunrise, but fall asleep again around 7am and can sleep until 1pm or so.
Frustrating, isn't it?
I don't know if you're feeling this way, but I feel like I'm not getting stuff done b/c I"m always asleep, then I feel guilty, then I want to hurt myself.

i slept too much my whole life until i was finally diagnosed with sleep apnea. now i sleep with a machine and get a much deeper sleep in less time, so i don't feel tired all the time/a need to sleep all the time. sleep apnea also causes depression, so if you're on this site and sleeping a lot, you might have both.
