This is funny, about husbands

I work in retail right now, Ladies Wear, and yesterday I had an older gentleman come into the store looking for a sweater for his wife, you know, a christmas gift. Anyway, he chose this u-g-l-y 32% wool striped brown jobbie with a turtleneck and long sleeves and I bet his wife hates it and I've seen men do this over and over again, suggest stuff that covers her up and makes her disappear. Why do they do it? My husband used to do the same sort of thing. My first husband, though, chose clothes that were knockout dead and right at the height of fashion.
I've thought about it a bit and I suspect with the first type of man, it's their protective instincts coming out. They want to envelope their wives and keep them warm and safe (not displayed). Some wives resent that.
Then there's the type like my first husband, who also come into the store and shop *with* their SO's, and they're trying to point their wives in the direction of being a bit showy, but then some wives don't like that either, and are trying to tone it down while their hubbys are trying to brighten them up and help them sparkle a bit. It is a great feeling when I'm able to make both of them happy. I love this temporary job. Temporary. Nine dollars an hour does not pay the bills. Have been having trouble keeping food in the cupboards lately....

Mostly they like to be sure that what we wear INSIDE the house never leaves the house... too much jealousy if we actually show some skin...

When my cupboards are bare I stock up on pasta and tomato sauce with vegetables already in it- store brand to keep down costs...

It's really a square meal- just snack on peanuts for some protein.

When you start saving some, add in some meats and fish for nutrition.

Just my "poor" diet for your inspection...

Nine dollars? lucky you! the best job i can find pays 7.50. And the only grocery store in town is the most expense Kroger in the state of Ohio (proven fact). Sorry to be cranky.

I am guilty of dressing my boyfriend in the sexiest clothes out there. make the other girls' heads turn, you know? :)

That's good advice Sunny.

And I bought my lunch at work today and charged it on my account, I shouldn't be doing that but I couldn't live without some real food anymore. I had a fish sandwich and a cup of soup, which I never eat at home, but it was so good ...
