Her name is Shanique, she lives in Jamaica, she's ten years old but she looks like 20 in her picture ... she knows too much about life.
She goes to Grade 4, and at home she "sweeps the yard around the house". Can you imagine, dirt for a yard?
I wish I could sponsor two children. Two thousand, two hundred thousand.

Your reaching out will touch many hearts. Most of all, Shanique will have a new friend who may help make all the difference in the world.

Susan,
That is so great! My husband is from Jamaica and when he talks of his childhood, sometimes I am completely astounded by how matter of factly he talks about his poverty. We take so much for granted here (at least I do).
Shanique is lucky to have someone like you to look out for her. And by the way, Jamaicans take great pride in keeping thier yards neat and tidy, hence all the sweeping.
Are you allowed to send her stuff or do you have to go through CCF?
This is the end of the thread.
