mercury retrograde makes the holidays frustrating

Posted by Jai Narayan on December 16, 2004, at 11:57:25

Today I tried to wrap presents and get them ready for their long trips to my dispursed family.
I wrapped and rewrapped one box of 5 presents for 1/2 an hour.

I wanted to scream.

Yeks!
Is anybody else having a hard time with small tasks?

Ja* with tape stuck in all the wrong places

Me, Me, Me, I am having a hard time with the stupidest stuff ..like usually doing my cards is a snap I send no less than 30 all with personal messages...Um I sent 6 so far with small messages and have had to FoRCE MYSELF to do it. My tree is up and looks great...I think it has to do with not being able to see ANYONE in my family and praying for a way out of seeing hubbys family...I am so blah on the whole holiday gig. I really want to have a way out of going to see his family I should make a wreath for the door I bought the stuff but am on the puter instead hahaha....and I did get my shopping done but all in all I am a SLUG. I am a scorpio maybe that mercury messed with me

Oh, yes, oh yes.

I'm going backwards right along with it.

I had to use white out on Christmas cards. My handwriting is horrible to begin with and I couldn't read some of my scribbles. I finally tore up a bunch of them and just signed my name and got my husband to sign his. I'd have probably wrote his name wrong had I done it.

Where's Superman to push mercury back in the right direction?

All of this is really interesting, because my pdoc has me filling out a daily mood chart to follow the ups and downs of my bipolar rapid cycling so we can look for triggers. I was sure that sunlight and lack of sunlight were the principal meteorological culprits. But now I realize that the temperature outside is a lot more significant -- the colder the day, the less motivated I become. New York is one big arctic wind tunnel this time of year (and for the next three months). Just hearing the wind outside makes my joints ache and me curl up on the couch. I haven't even bought the damn wrapping paper yet. Atticus

Me too. I wrote 5 xmas cards with the same generic paragraph ("hope you have a great holiday (though I really don't care)... things good here (though they're really not)... miss you (though haven't really thought about you all year until I got your card)...etc" then I said screw it and decided I wasn't doing cards this year.

I also tried to wrap and send a baby outfit to my pregnant friend- without shutting my cats out of the room. It turned out a cathair covered bundle with torn paper and a mess of tape, and after "little cat" jumped in the box with the gift I was VERY tempted to send him along. Guess I will send a lint brush for the next holiday...

Tis the season for losing reason!

Personally, I'm really impressed that you wrapped 5 presents in a half an hour :-)

thank you Cass....but the same 5 presents over and over?
the paper ripped, I cut the wrong size, the tape got stuck on my fingers and the dispenser....
I stuffed a present in a box that was too little but taped it till it fit (just barely).

Have you ever had gift envy?
My sister sent a gift to my other sister that I wanted.
Do I tell her I wanted the other gift too?
I guess you can't always get what you wanna....

hum hum
but if you try some time....

30 cards...now that's impressive.
I have to make orginal cards every year. So I am stalled on the card. I have worked on 40 cards already but some I love way too much and can't part with them and the others I am too embarrassed to send.
Every year I dread the holidays more.
The tension of the consuming is over the top for me now.
I work in retail and every year the stakes go up.
we work our butts off.

I just get tired.

I become overwhelmed by people ( just the shear numbers of people in the store).

So I am holiday cheerless.

mostly pastels.
Oils take time to dry.
Of course I didn't think about that this year.
I am into oils now.
I guess people have framed my cards.
