Mine does. I've had a LOT more stress/anxiety in the last few months than I've had in the past. All this time, I've been treating the symptoms; headaches, nausea, canker sores, etc. Talked with my pdoc and T about it. First thought it was med related since I've had 2 med increases in that time but since decreasing both and still in the same mess, we put it down to stress. My T suggested that I take my Xanax. Went to my GP and he flipped out when he saw me. I told him what was happening and that I was taking about 6-8 Gravol (Canada) per day. When he saw how much I was shaking and heard how much I was taking, he told me I was addicted. Addicted? They sell this stuff right off the shelf. You don't need a rx for it. My pdoc knew I was doing it, as did my T (remember she suggested I start taking my Xanax instead). Anyway, he was angry with my pdoc that she let things get to this point and ORDERED me to not take ANY more Gravol. I said "What am I supposed to do for my nausea then?", his reply "NOTHING!!!", Nothing? YIKES!!! I'll never survive. Then he told me to take my Xanax for my anxiety, which we know is also addictive, if not more. I don't get it. They want me to take Xanax instead of Gravol? I thought Gravol was the lesser of the 2 evils but who am I to argue. Now I'm taking Xanax, so the nausea has disappeared but what about all these canker sores? Right now I must have about 5 after a huge disappointment and fall-out with my son yesterday. :(
So, does anxiety/stress affect you in a physical way? If so, how? And thirdly, what do you do for it?
BTW, of course, I talk to my T about my problems.

My anxiety does affect me physically at times. I get really bad dizzy spells, nausea and upset stomach. I use Xanax when my anxiety gets really bad. In all the years that I have used Xanax, I have never become addicted to it nor have I needed to increase the prescribed dose.
For your nausea, you might want to try ginger. It is supposed to be really effective for nausea. As a matter of fact, Gravol now has a natural formula that is made up of ginger, so it should not be addictive. It is available in Canada. My mom tried it (she has major stomach problems and suffers from nausea and IBS a lot), and she found it to be excellent at relieving nausea. Ginger tea is also very good at settling an upset stomach and relieving nausea. Ginger can also help migraines.
I think physical symptoms are quite common with anxiety, particularly nausea and upset stomach.
I hope you find some relief soon.

I think I got an ulcer from stress/anxiety. I know my dad did. (He's got all kinds of intestinal problems now because of stress in previous years, too.) I also can't sleep when I'm stressed and anxious. I think my gf gets headaches from anxiety. Bad, horrible, throwing-up migraine headaches.
stress definitely takes its toll.

Stress *totally* takes its toll physically on me. Although I've got to say major depression was even worse. My body fell apart in ways I had never seen before. :-)
Anyway, I have made a concerted effort to avoid caffeine/alcohol/any other stimulant/depressant, sleep regular hours, and eat as healthy as possible, including multi-vitamins, Vit B 50 Complex, calcium, and omega 3s. when I concentrate on treating myself right physically, the physically signs of stress/depression are minimized and are manageable. Not gone, but manageable.
Take good care, I hope you feel better soon.

SusanThose are good things. I think I'll have to try at least some of them. Maybe they'll help me. Right now I'm engulfed in deep depression and anxiety/stress at the same time. My body is falling apart. What does the Vitamin B 50 Complex and Omega 3 do for the body?
Thanks for your informative answer. Much appreciated.

Yes it does. I get stabbing headaches above the ear, hear hissing sound. Pain radiates from the neck down to shoulders, arms, wrists. I get dizzy, distorted vision, balance problems. I feel like throwing up, but never do, there is electric tingling down my legs and in my face, mostly inside my mouth, which produce massive amount of saliva.
