I'd feel like I was stalking if I babblemailed too - but I just got one, and it felt fab. So maybe I should make someone else feel fab sometime!!

Yeah, I LOVE getting babblemail! We're probably all just being shy and it's silly.

And posting to them also makes me feel a little like a stalker. So, I just try to long for them from a distance. But that seems like a pity.

> Does anyone else have this problem? The default setting for Babblemail is "off". If someone has it turned on, it turns me on....err, I take it as an invitation to reach out.
Given the absolute anonymity of the babblemail process itself, there is no way anybody finds out anything about another person without their clear consent....so.....I say....babblemail to your heart's content.

I agree with Lar. And I think if you babblemailed someone and they didn't respond or their response was lukewarm, then that is a cue that maybe they are not interested. Just like IRL. But if it's on, it's on, baby!

This thread is getting me aroused. ;-)I just hate rejection! That's the real problem. Who likes it, though, I mean, really?

> definitely. but i just dont feel like a part of the "in" crowd.
Hey there. It took me a long time before I felt properly in with things here. Not suggesting that I am part of an 'in crowd' or even that there is such a thing, but I think I get what you mean.
I say: it takes time. The more you respond to peoples posts the more likely it is that they will respond to you. Then after a while they feel like they get to know you as a person and so they start reading your posts because your name is attached and so it goes on.
Thats just the way I have found things to be. I try to note the various things that affect how 'involved' I am. While there are other factors, the time I put into the boards and the time I put into other peoples posts seems to have a lot to do with the time they give back to me.
For a while I thought there was an 'in group'. But then I noticed that they were just pretty regular posters on one board. Once I branched out to different boards I noticed different regular posters. Different 'groups' of people. I guess here 'popular' is just a function of posts and posts just take time.

Maybe that is so. But you got 'close and friendly' with people here before, so you should be able to do this with us newbies :-)
I find the boards to be overwhelming after having been away for a while. I used to not check them on weekends and on Monday it was just overwhelming.I will be your friend :-)
I understand about feeling rejected. Here is the only place I don't get that.

Now this 'king' and 'queen' business is the american thingie of a popularity contest at high school - right? Appalling tradition IMHO. But anyways, to continue the notion of a popularity contest (just for fun) I would have to say that Phillipa should get to be both, Phillipa you transgendered thingie you.

We're getting her turned on! Yay!
I can tell you're not already, as your name is in black, at the top of your post.

I do wish Bob would fix that, by putting a link on each page..... :-/

> ShortE, who has no expectationsIn future, if you just want a quick and dirty way to the Babblemail send page without looking for a link, just find any post where the "Posted by XXXX" sender's name is in blue. Click on it, and you'll be in Babblemail. Change the send to name if you want to Babblemail somebody else.
Have fun!

Hey, when you go to type in your posting name you can type in a few varieties that will still go through as your posting name. For example I can type alexandra_k as my posting name and then my password, or I can type ALEXANDRA_K or Alexandra_K or even a*L*e*X*a*N*d*R*a*_*K (well, if there was room in the box I could).
How about phillipa for phillipa and PHILLIPA for gnepig. or phillipa and phillipa* or something like that?
Hey that gives me a naughty idea:
f*u*c*k hahahahahah

> ggLordy, I hope no one interprets my lack of response that way!! The truth is that I'm just awful at email. I wish the email screen looked like this one and I'd be just fine. But it doesn't. It's all blank and unfriendly. I'm miles behind answering my emails and it's mainly because I hate the Yahoo email program, not for any other reason.
I'm sorry everyone. I hope I haven't made you feel hinted off.
(Are there better screens elsewhere on free accounts?)
