Mixed greens, gorgonzola cheese, caramelized walnuts, granny smith apples, a few dried cranberries, and vinaigrette. It was pretty good, if rather sweet.I never cook for myself so this is unusual.

Sounds yummy, not to mention pretty and colorful. I love those salad-in-a-bag things they have at the grocery with the interesting green mixes. Haven't bought any lately-- maybe you've just inspired me.
At my job today there was a bunch of food leftover from a meeting-- a salad with mixed greens, roasted red peppers, and sliced Brie. I took a whole pile of it, only to discover the red peppers were loaded up with raw garlic chips. It was too too garlicky.

I made myself a lettuce, cucumber, onion and tuna salad for lunch. No dressing, just a few herbs. As fat and carb free as possible.
Any ideas on other carb free salads that are filling?

The folks who put washed lettuce in bags are brilliant!!
I like to get pretty creative with my salads. Depending what's on hand I might add
strawberries
toasted almonds, pine nuts or sunflower seeds
avocado
cheese (feta, or goat, or whatever)
fresh herbs
pitted olives
grated carrot - I don't like slices because they fall to the bottom of the bowl and I like my salad integrated (OK, so I really am weird!)
mushroomsand sometimes I like to have salads of just one or two things: grated carrot with toasted sunflower seeds in a vinaigrette; tomato, fresh basil and sweet onion with balsamic vinegar and olive oil; cucumber with dill, black pepper and vinegar; or cucumber with garlic in sour cream and pepper.
I LOVE SALAD.

In a porcelain bowl, preferably a crazed one, mix:
one head, shredded
1/2 cup anxiety, torn into small bites
1/2 cup depression, chopped fine
a handful of nuts, any kind, toastedmix one part denial to two parts delusion, shake well and pour over the rest of the mixture.
Toss well.

I think I started to do simple salads like that when I tried to add lots of veggies to my diet and decided I must have been the kind of baby who had to had her foods separated by colour or something... I made the mistake once of constructing a salad where I chopped every ingredient the same size and shape - don't ask me WHAT I was thinking, it was One Of Those Days - and I decided that it didn't *taste" good that way.
I think it's time for a pizza...

the color separation reminds me of a friend who didn't like her different foods touching one another.
