Babblers sometimes use abbreviations that are unknown to some of us.
It doesn't always feel appropriate to ask what they mean.
It's frustrating.

Hi there!
I know what you mean! Perhaps the following thread will help you with some of the abbreviations. Maybe this list could be added to the FAQs and become "evergreen" and updated as new abbreviations are created. Just a thought.

Chuckle. That one is actually a business language abbreviation.
Cover Your Posterior, Alexandra. Protect yourself from lawsuit.
If in doubt, there's never any harm in asking. :) Although I usually like to have a bit of fun guessing first. Especially if it might be risque.

Thanks! I have never heard that one before. Maybe its cause we aren't particularly litigous (however ya spell that) over here :-)
Thats a goodie.

But it's not the business world abbreviation we want, it's the psychological world def., isn't it???? Geez, see now I have to go looking for that post. Does anybody know where it is? Who started this thread? Where is the post you're referring to? I remember it too, to some degree, I think it might be from Corafree to me, even.

My therapist was being a bit too obvious. I accused him once a long time ago of CYA behavior and he agreed and requested that I please allow him to CHA. So it's not really a point of contention to us. We're just both aware of the game involved, although I'm too polite to call him on it again. I understand, I guess. And I appreciated his honesty.

That's GG and Dinah, now that's exactly what I've been like my Entire Life, I take EVERYTHING so literally it's quite comical. I think everybody's serious, I forget to see the humour in things, and sometimes I see the humour when others don't, and it's all just a big mess, you see. Thank you.

This was posted to me by Larry Hoover sometime ago. It helped tremendously since I did not even know what BTW or IRL or IMO meant.

You're wonderful. Thanks. When I can afford to get ink for my printer I'm going to print the list, because that's the kind of thing I need to refer to...
