Is one of the most gorgeous movies I've seen, only because (a) Nicolas Cage, the sensitive, is in it, and (b) Meg Ryan asks him to hold her until she falls asleep, and he does, and (c) their lovemaking is spiritual, (d) Meg Ryan loses her life because she gets caught up in the romance of living.
Who else has a favourite movie to share, and why? Anybody?

Yes I recognized Sarah McLachlan in there, the CD I have, and I double swooned, now I think I have to see it again. But you didn't put in a vote for yourself, what's your vote if I haven't seen it maybe I'll pick it up ...

okay- this is going to sound WAY weird, but A favorite of mine (I'm much too wishy-washy to choose just one)is....drum roll, please....
Coyote Ugly...... (gasps of dismay heard 'round the "listeners", I know).I just find it incredibly empowering and full of hope. That humans can manage to learn to conquer their demons. That they can be brave enough to do things that "societal mores" are against (and "using" all "the bad" as a means to grow and ultimately get you where you want to the "good" place you want to be!). To metamorphose from caterpillar to butterfly in terms of personal strength. All the while realizing that communication is key with regard to any and all types of human relationships. That sometimes you need to agree to disagree with your boss, your friends, your father (parents), your boyfirend (husband). That if communications are honest and things are explained with love, a daughter can talk to her father AND BE HEARD (fascinating topic, to ME, anyway!)
Okay, maybe you all think I'm nuts to get all of that from the movie, but that's what is was to me and the meanings become clearer everytime I watch it again....(The horrified silence becomes deafening to the crazy movie critic.....) (hee hee)

It sounds like I would identify with it way way too much and probably have a severe emotional trauma added right now if I saw that BUT I'll keep it in mind for the future OR Maybe I'll look see if the library has it and then I can always decide not to watch if it's too much.

>Ohhh..this movie...it does *so* much to me. It moves me, touches me on such deep levels, and I cry so hard at the end of this movie...it hits very, close to home. There are a few other things in the movie...
Being mortal is the ultimate cost and sacrifice. "Through death and dying we learn how to live." Ohh..I am gonna go on and on if I don't stop..heh..Jay
