Johnny Carson

Posted by Phil on January 23, 2005, at 14:52:56

Just heard that Johnny Carson has died.
I can't think of any other entertainer that I felt such affection for. I'm at a loss for words.

God Bless Him (nm)

My dad loved Johnny Carson, too. We watched him together a lot when I was young. My dad would laugh so hard he couldn't stop sometimes (especially when there were animals :)).

Thank you *so* much for your image, Jai. It makes me smile instead of feeling sad.

Yes, Jai, that was truly lovely. Thank you so much.

Hope it's okay if my Mom joins your Dad and Johnny. She loved him, too, and so did I.

Seemed like a sweet, shy, brilliant, hilarious and decent man.

Hi Amy, I cried for Johnny too. His passing felt like losing a family member. I find myself still thinking about him.

Hope you're doing okay. : )

alesta

I can totally relate to your reaction of crying. Trying not to date myself, but I cried for days when John Lennon was murdered. I felt since he was a huge part of my growing up that it was almost like a family member had died. It also destroyed any possibility of The Beatles getting back together. It still affects me today. Such a great talent, taken from us too soon. The world wasn't ready, I wasn't ready.
