Posted by Rainee on February 3, 2005, at 12:01:59

Monday I felt wonderful.. it's thursday and I've crashed. I have anxiety . I'm in my own head too much and course its all negative scary thoughts I feel paralyzed by them. can any one help me. I feel so alone. not that I wish this on anyone but it's good to hear people understand,, I don't even want to leave the house! or get dressed.
nothing appeals to me. I had to struggle to reach out. I called my pastor twice no return call.hmmmmm I'm having second thoughts about this church I belong too.
anyway thanks for the vent.

I THINK it's safe to say that most of us here do know hwat you mean. We all cycle in and out of the realms of depression and/or anxiety.

One thing that helped me was to force myself out of my house, thus forcing myself out of my own head. The thing about anxiety is that it grows exponentially if you think about it too much.

How 'bout just a walk around the block (or field, whatever your locale dictates)?

Hope you feel better soon,
Sunny10

Rainee,

I got (and get) help from a program on tapes I bought years ago. It's called "Attacking Anxiety" and it is wonderful! Last year at this time I was having full blown panic attacks and night terrors. I pulled out my tapes and started with the first one and whenever I started to panic or get wrapped inside my head in my squirelly thoughts I would get my walkman and "plug in" to people sharing their experiences and how they coped and eventually overcame. It validated my feelings and gave me a solution as well so I had hope. Hope is sometimes all it takes to get us grounded again....The program is not cheap by any means but my sanity was and is worth the price....You can go to the website and join in forums too with people who are supportive and helpful... http://www.stresscenter.com/

I wish you love and strength

Tooter (Pam)
