okay I am freaking out....please help me....

Posted by Jai Narayan on February 22, 2005, at 20:37:23

My partner of 18 years is so concerned about a procedure he's going through that he has signed all the power of attorney's available...
I guess he thinks he's going to be ill and maybe die from a procedure he's going through.
I am freaked.
I love him and if he is right...
my life will change dramatically.
I'm not ready for a life change like this.

can I move the river?
with my hands can I move a mountain?

how will my life look without him?
I just die thinking about this.

I am getting older and so is he.
we are approaching 60.

every decade has it's perils.

I just can't face this life without him.
18 years together...
such good years.

he is so much a part of my very fabric...
facing a 'letting go" is freaking me out.

I need a reframe....
I have to love with open arms...
come what may...
how to get there is the problem.

My life is so good...
as it is.
enough.

I know this pain. It helps to scream and stomp your feet. And pray for acceptance.

I hope he is Ok. Those forms are scary. I have a stack. Everytime we get close, I think I'm ready. When we get really close, I know I'm not.

I've often wondered which is better...the gift of being able to say good-bye or the gift of swiftness (no dread, no worries, no anger).

I have discovered something I'm not good at. Watching my husband die.

try to hang in there until you know something for sure. i had a family members doctor say a situation was dire...i've cried and sworn and gone thru grief only to, thank god, find out things weren't as bad as depicted. how dare anyone allow someone to go thru this agony when they weren't sure.

i'm praying your situation turns out positively.

Jai, I'm sending you and your partner healing thoughts. I've always thought that I didn't have any problems with getting older, but that's because I have such a wonderful partner, too; and my thoughts of growing old presume our health and that partnership. I hope that the procedure has a positive outcome for him.
Take good care,
pc

I think it is so sweet of him to sign the papers.

He loves you enough to want you cared for.

He loves you enough that he trusts the decision making to you.

He knows that you love him enough to make decisions in his best interest.

Whatever the outcome, and I feel inside that it will be good, this is a love that you are blessed and lucky to have.

I agree with AuntieMel.

And since her kind thoughts helped me out over the weekend, I am now sending them to you.

I hope you can feel our best wishes; and I hope you always know the support you will receive here no matter what.

I am so touched by your messages.

My MO is to be strong and not ask for help.

I just threw caution to the wind...
so to speak
thank you for asking...

my goodness you all are the best support I have.
the day is Friday and we are counting down...
a nurse called today and asked if he had made out a living will and power of attorney....
he said yes.

I am honored and freaked out at the same time.
I imagine that he will be fine...
we will get through this all right.

but who knows?

once again thank you all for being so incredibly wonderful

My very best to you all

Jai,
Try to remember that the signing of Power of Attorney papers are precautionary. Hopefully there will be no need for them. Try not to worry about something that may not end up being a problem. (I know it's much easier said than done but just keep telling yourself it's a precaution.)

My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Take care and keep us posted.

Kara

thank you prayers are welcomed....:) Ja* (nm)

Good luck today. fingers and toes all crossed (except the two I type with)

You haven't said what the procedure is, so I don't have any way to gague the seriousness of it. But they've got so good with everything that even open heart and bypas isn't considered very dangerous anymore.

I'll be thinking of you all day.

it's all over and he's fine..thank you big time!:)

I could feel all the wonderful energy coming my way.
big, big, BIG thank you all.

we just got back from the hospital and it's so good to feel calm again.

the Doc did take a biopsy
So we will get the results of that in 10 days.

once again everybody, thanks for your prayers and energy.
I am touched by all your kindness.
