I just feel like making small talk to get my mind off other ISSUES...but anyway. I have a beagle mix that i rescued from the pound..I have spoiled "casey" rotten. She sleeps with me every night and has her own red pillow next to mine. (she knows its her's too) she's even a bed hog! But I love her anyway. Who else has a dog story?? I love hearing about pets...

All six of them.
I don't have any favorites right now, but many years ago I had one that I would have married if it had been legal. My husband was dreadfully jealous and rightfully so.
That's who I want to spend eternity with.

I have disappointments, psychic wounds, losses and a substantial personal void. I didn't realize that one of the missing pieces in my life could be filled by a black and white puppy. Gus, now three, has enriched me in countless ways. I don't have to tell him how I feel about him, he knows.

let's seeeee....gus sleeps spread out, i sleep wherever he isn't...gus eats, then i do and then he eats again whatever i'm having (bad me)...gus sleeps on my desk, i work around him trying to see the monitor. Yup, he's spoiled but only because he's the sweetest, happiest soul i know. It brings me up everyday to see him bee-bopping down the hall with his tail in the air and not a care in the world.

Hmmm, basically what Toph and Ana said except my digglets name is Sarah and she's 11. She's the best therapist there is and knows all my secrets and fears. If it wasn't for her (and this place) I honestly don't know where I'd be.

I used to have 2 border collies.
Chloe and Blake (after William Blake one of my favourite poets).
Chloe was most special to me.
She used to jump all over me when I was eating because (and this took a while to work out) she was trying to chase the reflections on the wall behind me that my knife and fork were making.
She used to spend her day pouncing on shaddows.
She'd go out by a tree and when a shaddow moved she would jump on it and squeal.
She was a very manic and anxious dog.
Was bred to heard sheep
So she was go go go all day.
She wasn't so very cuddly.
Mostly she would hate it if I picked her up and hugged her or if I made her lie down so I could pat her because she wanted to run run run.
She adored chasing a tennis ball and catching a frisbee.
She would literally run till she dropped with exhaustion.
I would have to make her rest
And make her drink.I got worried about her nervous habits and we took her to a dog psychologist.
She said that she needed to be physically and mentally active.
We got 'brain teaser' puzzles for her.
Like this cube that you had to flip over to get food from.
And this long cylander thing to lick vegemite out of.She learned about 150 distinct words.
Loved agility
And was an absolute terror at dog obedience.
She knew what she was SUPPOSED to do but...
I would say 'stay' and walk away and she used to creep along behind me slinking with her tail beneath her legs. She knew she wasn't supposed to but she hated to leave my side when other people / dogs were around.
She was a fear biter. She would get cuddlier at night.
Come up for her evening cuddle.
She loved her tummy being rubbed.
And being scratched behind the ears.
She would lick my face
And I didn't mind. She would be getting on now.
I gave her to someone who will be spoiling her rotton.
Who has 2 fenced acres in the country.
I bet she just runs around there all day.
I miss her.And that was a ramble...
Sorry.

I have two miniature pinschers, Chico 6yrs. and Junior 4yrs.
They sleep in my bed under the covers with me.
I'm glad they are small because pound for pound they are some tough cookies... like tazmanian devils.
I am forever grateful to them for the love that give me.
They saved my life recently. I could not kill myself during a very serious bout of depression because I didn't want to leave them and I couldn't bear to take them with me. It was a close call, I came very close to shooting us all. Now I have tinges of guilt about my selfishness to even think such a thing.
I think I'll give them some treats right now...

Aww, everyone seems to have a special story about their pets. (cats count too :) ) I have one also. My dog has also had a role in saving me. I think about how she would feel I was gone. (i dont know what she would do, she loves me so much) I think animals are great for people with depression because of the unconditional love they give and dont judge you! Hip Hip Hooray for PETS!!!
Thanks all for making me smile with your stories..

Oh I loved reading your posts!! My dog's name is Simba (the kids named him). He is so loyal and eager to please. He isn't allowed on the carpet in the living room, or upstairs in the bedrooms, but when I moved my office upstairs to get more daylight, he now sleeps on the carpet at the entrance to the living room, at the bottom of the stairs to be as close as possible! I'd let him up with me but hubby has allergies and it was a promise when he agreed to getting the dog in the first place. And he (the dog!) knows he isn't supposed to be there so when I come down the stairs, he rolls onto his back like a simp and sucks up for a tummy rub, so I can't get mad at him!! I've given up trying to get him to move over onto his rug (5 inches away) as I can't get over the wonderful way it makes me feel to know how much comfort he gets from being near me. The feeling is mutual, my friend. Sorry - long!!

I think I said it somewhere else but my biggest ambition is to be just 1/10th the person she thinks I am.
You're way too nice to me you know, but thank you. You're good people ana.
