Toph, I haven't been able to keep up with all that many Social threads lately. I'm sorry if I'm asking something you've already answered or prefer not to speak of.

How'd things to with your wife?

Thanks for asking Dinah. The biopsy was negative. Her breast is still sore but the extraction was small and not deforming. She has the stitches removed this week.

Although she denied at the time that her displeasure with me had anything to do with anxiety about her surgery, she sure has been pleasant since she found out that it was benign. She said some hurtful things that scared me quite a bit, mainly because her disappointment in me, while accentuated by her fears, were also based on real things that I do to let her down. The good news is that this scare and her dramatic threat to leave gave me the kick in the @ss I needed to be a better spouse. Now if I can only find the tonic I need to improve my work performance all will be right in my world, at least for a day or two.

Oh, I'm so glad. Both about the negative results and about her attitude changing when she found out. My husband hides anxiety in anger as well.

It's very clear to me how very much you love her. I'm sure she has legitimate complaints about you. My husband has legitimate complaints about me, I have legitimate complaints about him. It doesn't mean anything awful. Just that you're a flawed human being like the rest of us.

It certainly never hurts to renew the resolve to be a better spouse though.

If you get a cure for burnout, let me know, will you?
