I always thought (amongst several other things) that "Spoc" sounded like a dude, who would inhabit only the Meds board (or maybe Books or Writing under sci-fi). Well, in an ironic turn of events, I do plan to mostly restrict myself to the Meds board now when I come by. But hopefully the few who got to know me as Spoc will see this so they don't experience the tragedy of missing me should I venture out. :-)

I'm just curious, does changing your name have anything to do with having recently been to the Babble Party?
I used to be Shy_Girl. I changed my name because I didn't want others to think I was shy before they even conversed with me. I wanted to incorporate a better part of myself into my name, hence "Deneb" and it's reference to astronomy, one of my hobbies. :-)

No, not at all. Amongst my main "broken record" themes over the last year have been 1] I'M AN INTERNET ADDICT AND I NEED TO GET AND STAY THE H*LL OUT OF THIS AND ALL OTHER DODGES; and 2] should I change my name should I change my name, I sense it is the root of any shortcomings for me here and it doesn't look inviting and it conjures weird and unfitting associations and and and ....! ;-)
But I had to wait for the perfect name to hit me, IN DIRECT CONTRAST to how I did it the first time, when I had no idea I'd stick around. I signed an email to a friend this way recently, not even thinking of it as a potential name... and she said it was so perfect that I immediately saw the light!

I've been to them sporadically in the past (what, you can't tell?? ;). Those ones had prescription pads alrightee, but none were what could really be considered expert in the meds part, weren't primarily psychopharms. Around here, most pdocs stick with just a few very standard meds and urge doing the therapy with them too.

Well, Its been rough, HTe adjustment has not been easy since my arrival home lol, Im aimless and lost LOL Making irrational, impulsive decisons...geez its bad ;-)
Oh oh and just to confuse me even more!!! I started watching this bizarre show called star trec, trek? I dont even know how to spell it lol i think i will need this new board HAHA!

Well, maybe in the same ironic way that taking a stimulant for ADHD (REDIRECT REDIRECT! ;) calms people down, you will start to focus better when you see my new name...

I saw by starting in the FAQs that what you have to do is find the Register link (I think it's at the bottom of the main pages, not looking at that screen now) and just follow the prompts for genuinely new people. I think only the very last step referred to, and has you specify, that you are actually just changing your name. (That's when you're entering the confirmation code you get by email. Btw, for some reason I couldn't tell right away that I needed to scroll further down that page to get to the right part.)
When done, you post to Admin that you changed your name, with or without specifying who you used to be. Then, never use the other one again. (Actually unless it's been retracted, there is one exception to never using another name, but I'll spare all that rambling!)
Good luck on getting unconfuzed!
