Working on a web site

Posted by deirdrehbrt on June 15, 2005, at 18:59:32

I am a member of a local depression support group and we have decided to start a web site. I seem to be the one who will be saddled with most of the work, so I am looking for ideas. What would you look for in a web site for depression?
Many of the people in the group suffer from other mental illnesses. I am planning on having pages describing these as well.
I'm just looking for input... what would you expect from such a site? I don't think I have the energy to do anything more than a basic site, but I do want it to be useful.
Thanks alot for your input.

Dee.

i would like to read reasons for *not* committing suicide. things everyone can relate to and things that make everyone important.

i tend to only find these sites when i'm at my worst, and i always appreciate the positive and affirming sites.

ps: i hope all is well with you, ice cream friend :)

I wouldn't take their stuff, but you could look at wingofmadness.com for some ideas. I'm always printing out stuff from there to give to the unimformed.

Thanks everyone

Thanks alot for your suggestions. I also got in touch with my community mental health people and they offered a bit of help too. Thanks again.
