Going barefoot all summer, eating homemade ice cream, swimming, catching lightning bugs to put in a Mason jar. Mosquitos, Little League baseball, eating sour green grapes off the vines that climbed the oak trees at my school. Crickets, frogs, lizards. Playgrounds and parks. Rivers and lakes.
Bee stings. Drinking water from a water hose.
Water Wiggle and Slip n Slide. *Eating watermelon*
A night sky, flooded with stars. Your best friend.Happy summer and please pass the iced tea.

Swing tag at the park; riding your bike - everywhere (have wheels, will travel); camping out in the backyard; drive-in movies; hide-and-seek; Mr. Freezies and Slush Puppies - and the dreaded brain freeze; the Exhibition, Ontario Place and Centre Island - yah!; bathing suits all summer, even when you had to put on clothes, a bathing suit was underneath . . . < sigh > and . . . moving ICK!

Ahhh...growing up in the South. Brings back memories. Now my mason jars have chow chow in them. Think I'll go make some sweet tea.

Spear grass and "horney toads"
Dewberries fresh off the vine (don't forget the stick to chase off the water moccasins)
tree houses you build yourself
bare feet on oyster shell driveways
garter snakes
