I've never been clubbing before! I don't know what to wear!
What is it like inside? What am I supposed to do? How much in tips does the bartender get? What kind of drinks are there? I don't know anything! Do we need to buy tickets to get in? Do I have to look a certain way to get in? Do I have to be cool?

OK,I haven't done this in awhile so things could be different but, this is how it was in the 80's-90's.
It's important you look OK. IE: for a goth club: black, black and more black(WHAM! tee shirts or acid washed jeans are a no-no)and if you have some leather or lace or big tarneshed medallions that would be bonus.
A club kids type culb: anyhting goes and actually, the more riculous you can make your personal style the more points you get for creativity and this could even help you get in the club...
A gay club: here it's all about grooming. Are you coiffed with just the right tousled nonchalance? Did you shower twice? Is your stubble even? Is the stratigically placed rip in your appropriately worn jeans in the right place? etc?See the type of club matters. So, it's good if you have the time to spend the night before drinking into the wee hours so you can wake up in the late afternoon of your club day, complaining about your hangover and stressed out about what to wear and how to coiff that night. These issues can take several hours to resolve with many bloody marys and alot of time destroying your closet. Once dressed and appropriately buzzed you usually have just enough time to make it to the bar for pre-clubbing drinks. This is an important step as it gives you time to catch up with friend's complaints. Complaining and dancing well are major clubber skills.
Once at the club there will be a long, slow moving line( to give you time to feel anxious and annoyed)at the end of which you will pay a cover charge. Inside, the better you tip the bartender, the stronger your drinks will be...
I'm being totally facetious, of course. Clubbing, the bright lights, the energy, the release of dancing til you're all sweaty and relaxed and happy w/ your endorphins all zapping around in there, being with friends and feeling close and young and pretty, it's all good. I think I'm just old and bitter. The thing about the bartender is true however...

A lot of people cancelled last minute. We decided to just go have one drink, stopped by a candy store and then had something to eat at a diner...just three people including me.
I got home at about 12. I got really sick on my way back. I think I got food poisoning. I threw up a lot and had horrible cramps and had to use the bathroom a lot. It was/is horrible. I think it was something I ate before I headed out. I only had a milkshake and some fries at the diner. Can lactose intolerance cause vomiting and diarrhea and cramps? I'm not sure whether or not I'm lactose intolerant mainly because I don't like milk and don't drink it.

When the pain (abdominal cramps) get really bad, I want to die instead of experiencing the pain.
It's so horrible. Fortunately the worst of it seems to have past...hopefully, still waiting for the next cramp. :-(

Sure sounds like lactose intolerance to me. It doesn't take much for some people's tummies to go really haywire. Take care,

But it was a lot of milkshake that I drank...
I don't know. I'm kind of afraid to eat now!

I don't have it myself. But, I do have it's evil twin Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I t's(of course) stress related and pretty much means that anything one eats goes through double time and emerges in a loud, gassy, painful, and totally (if in public) embarrassing gush. It's neat.
