Because I'm seeing that's the norm in porn. So if it's the norm there, is it becoming the norm in real life as well? I'm curious, because I've only ever known of one woman who wants to have it done. I'm watching these movies and there must be more than a dozen women involved.. and 9 out of ten of them have silicone boobs. It's so obvious and so unattractive, the silicone doesn't move although the skin around it does, and I can see the men like natural breasts better, even though natural ones aren't like the silicone ones at all, not what we thought the "ideal" was. They move totally differently, too. Natural breasts bounce so much better :)

I think it is becoming more prevalent...
I'd rather have a lift / reduction than implants...This conversation is reminding me of Absolutely Fabulous....
When all these people die, inside their coffins will be bones and bumps (of silicon).
Bones and bumps.
Yuk.

put it this way; the average breast size in the US used to be a "B cup". Now it is a "C cup"...
Yes, it is increasingly prevalent.
And, in my opinion, it sets us back 50 years in the women's movement.
It's gotten so that I can't hold any man's eyes anymore. Even at work, they are too busy staring at the new C or D cups on one of my colleagues...
I now feel woefully incomplete as a woman- I used to be average and thought I was just fine.....

Nope, don't need it.
But I did read there was a call for actresses in CA to audition for a particular movie part only if they had real breasts. No one showed up! Could it be we're buying into the Hollywood movie stereotype that we 'need' to have perfect boobs just like we 'need' to be a size 2? Guess I'll never be a movie star! ;~}

LOL! Or not bones.. remember the osteoporosis show? God, that was funny.
Ab Fab is a very funny show..I can really relate to the blonde's addiction-prone attitude. Addicted to sex, men, drugs, money .. anything else? She's one of those outrageous women who're completely overblown about everything. The bad girl side of us. And the daughter, she's the good girl side, and the brunette the mother is somewhere in between, pathetic and needy and off the wall funny. Good show!

But do you know what's so absolutely ridiculous about the whole thing? What's hilarious to me, is if you really watch these movies, this porn, you begin to see stuff.. like the obvious thing that big breasts, whether fake or not, are enough of a turn-on to make a big deal out of .. but when it comes to the actuality of having sex with those boobs, the sexiest men are the ones who love the real thing more. And they comment on it. And they pay more attention to a real boob than a fake one. In fact, if you watch closely, some actors actually kind of shrink away a bit, from a fake boob. Because it's true, on some badly done jobs, just the skin moves, it's like, a leather package around a hard ball of something, the ball doesn't move when you touch it, not much and certainly not the natural jiggling response you would get from a real breast ... but the skin around it moves. And you can still see veins in the breasts and sometimes the nipple's off center a bit, and the whole thing is just so discouraging, how can anybody DO that to a human body? And then the fact that so many foolish men actually don't know the difference between the pleasures and delights of a real breast versus a fake one.. or the sickening thought, and this is what REALLY gets me, the sickening thought that nature is no longer Good Enough. Any guy that is more attracted to fake breasts versus real ones, I wouldn't want to have anyway. There's a level of maturity lacking in him that I wouldn't be able to accept.

You see now that's the crux of the whole issue. Have you ever seen the movie "Breasts"? I think that's what it's called. It's about the two men who made silicone boobs their life's work. It's sickening, but a really good movie nonetheless.. now what the heck is the matter with us that we need to buy into any fool's idea of what the perfect breast IS?
Who said a perfect breast is manufacted by man? See now, that's just got to be the height of arrogance. Male arrogance, and because so many of us feel inadequate as women, we go for it. We think, yes, I need that to make me a woman. And sometimes it really works that way. It does make the woman feel more attractive, more confident. Which is so sad.. why wasn't there a man out there who appreciated what she had so much, already, and let her know how sexy she is, because he really feels that way? Because men think fake is better, now, I don't even know if they care about real. And they say WE'RE shallow. I don't know. Maybe we are..
Can we take a POLL of men who prefer real boobs over silicone or saline?

Because I like it.
Right now it's one of my pet subjects. But you don't have to read any of it. I would understand, Clear Skies.

There might be women reading who have implants for other reasons though, and I wouldn't want them to read about how terrible people think they look (or any woman with implants really)

And because I can't take back what I've said even if I say "I shouldn't have said that", the fact is there're women who have them who might feel insecure about them from reading stuff like that, which wouldn't be good for them.. so I hope some good might come of what I've said if it makes others who're thinking about it, make sure it's what they need. Because it makes mammograms a lot harder to read.. and besides vanity, that's another really good reason not to get them. Although I've heard the saline ones are easier to read through. Silicone completely blocks the view of breast tissue, it's like a big black spot and nothing else, and if a woman thinks mammos might be important for her at some point in her life, she's blocking out the best possibility of an early diagnosis by getting implants; that itself puts a healthy, vibrant woman's life more at risk .. depends on what's important, though. Because for me I'm increasing my chances of getting cancer, too, by smoking pot.. but I've made that decision and I live with it because smoking pot and feeling easy in my skin is what makes my life bearable, right now. And I know that sometime in the future I might pay the price for that, and the price would be high. But my life, right now, in this time and place, is all I have. And I have to make that good. I think the two things can be comparable.

If you're in California with physicians recommendation then vaporization is an alternative to smoking. Here is a link to study done: http://tinyurl.com/8yse7
and the MAPS project http://tinyurl.com/ap788
those who need to medicate this way and cannot ingest or smoke have found the vaporizer to be a very helpful method of delivery.
