I wish that I could go to New Orleans and get the babies who need help. :-(

You read my mind. I'd bring a bunch of kids home to my one room apartment if I could. I've always had a special place in my heart for children. I hope one day to complete my degree and become a social worker. Right now school is too much for me though. If daycare centers paid enough to live off of, I'd make that my career. Unfortunately they pay around minimum wage.

I dont know. I just see the babies on tv. They are dehydrating. Our counselor at school cried all day because she dealt with one sad story after another. We have many N.O.students coming into our school.

I don't mean anything bad to say about the parents with babies in the hospital down South, but would you leave your child? I could never, ever do that, even if it meant I starved to death or whatever.

I do not think anyone left their babies. Its just they were dehydrating from the heat and lack of water.

they were likely told to. babies were sick in hospitals and parents were probably pressured to leave them. I dont think it was a time of rational thinking for anyone.
