My 5 year old loves animals. She wants to be a "etinarian" when she grows up. lol.
We bought her a puppy today. The puppy will be ready to come home the first week in November.
It is a snowzer (misspell). I cant wait to give it to her.

Yea! That's great. I want to be a 5 yr old whose mommy just bought her a puppy. That's got to be a great feeling. I hope to be able to do that for my kids some day Of course, that would require meeting a man and having some kids 1st...I guess the puppy is the easier part.
We had schnauzers when I was growing up. They are great dogs. Let us know when you have a name for the puppy.
Best,
EE

I told my mother-in-law that we were getting my little one a dog. She said, "A dog in the house, are you insane?"
She had a dog in her house the whole time her kids were growing up.
She is always cutting my decisions down. I cant take it anymore. She is one of those people who are always right. I have to go there for lunch today. (I am only going for my husband's sake).
I dont want to.

She knows that I suffer from mental illness. To say those words to me was cruel.
I dont want to go to her house.
My husband needs to tell her off.
ok. That is not to christian.
Maybe he can tell her off nicely.
Maybe I should tell her off
I am so mad

There are no shortages of mean MIL's out there. I think that they believe that they are in a competition with their DIL's for their son's affection.
In cases like these, I like to use some imagery to help me feel better. For example, I suggest that you picture the puppy peeing on her shoes. :)

>U are the woman of YOUR home, not her and you make the decisions. I think an animal is a WONDERFUL experience for any child(except health reasons of course). It can help them grow in so many ways. Tell your MIL how u feel in the nicest way possible and yeah, imagine the puppy peeing on her shoes or her stepping in puppy poop...LOL ; ) When someone calls me *crazy* or *insane*, i laugh and then look serious and say," I even have papers". Laugh at her ignorance! ; )

You need to start preparing now. Buy a cage as this will be a large dog and they will not soil their cage. And it keeps them from destroying things when you're out. They like it there. They feel safe. Fondly, Phillipa
