I'm thinking of you. Hope you are weathering the storm well.

Thanks, AG. I seem to have saved up all my freaking out until after the storm. Go figure. No damage from wind or rain, lost power a few times, and when we were all nice and cozy eating dinner I had a whopping panic attack. I guess it's a "what if" reaction... had to stop watching the newscasts.

This makes me feel so stupid. Having anxiety *after* nothing happened. I'd like to trade in my brain, please.

ill trade :-)
But thats totally normal, a lot of the time people freak out after the fact. there was a huge buid-up of panic in general and you stayed calm and then you have to put all that stress somewhere, right? So after is as good a time as any.
glad you are safe and no damage.

I do the same thing. The adrenaline gets you through the emergency, but then the excess adrenaline causes panic.

I wanted to say that I'm glad you're safe and sound.

Thanks, Dinah. And thanks for the reassurance about the afterburner anxiety. I'm struggling without xanax today - some days are ok, and some days are doozies. I think I might ask my p-doc about trying Klonopin again. I wonder if I didn't give it a fair shot.

For those who haven't read it in a thousand other places, benzos really suck to titrate down from. You'd be surprised how well a sliver of a tablet can work. At least, I was surprised when I finally stopped using xanax at all and felt like my heart was surely going to crash out of my chest. Dreally dreadful.

I think it's the same place that the tooth fairy hangs out at.
