check out the lyrics to this most gnarly rush song..(sorry..i like totally forget we aren't in the 80s anymore..)...all right, all right, i'm posting the lyrics now..hold onto your grannie panties.:)
And the men who hold high places
Must be the ones who start
To mold a new reality
Closer to the heart
Closer to the heart/ A - G - / D G A - / A - G - / D A G - / D A G - /
The blacksmith and the artist
Reflect it in their art
They forge their creativity
Closer to the heart
Yes, closer to the heartPhilosophers and ploughmen
Each must know his part
To sow a new mentality
Closer to the heart
Yes, closer to the heart, yeahYou can be the Captain
And I will draw the chart
Sailing into destiny
Closer to the Heart
Closer to the Heart
Well, closer to the Heart, yeah
{Repeat, ad lib, to fade}

It's All About SoulShe waits for me at night, she waits for me in silence
She gives me all her tenderness and takes away my pain
And so far she hasn't run, though I swear she's had her moments
She still believes in miracles while others cry in vainIt's all about soul
It's all about faith and a deeper devotion
It's all about soul
'Cause under the love is a stronger emotion
She's got to be strong
'Cause so many things getting out of control
Should drive her away
So why does she stay?
It's all about soulShe turns to me sometimes and she asks me what I'm dreaming
And I realize I must have gone a million miles away
And I ask her how she knew to reach out for me at that moment
And she smiles because it's understood there are no words to sayIt's all about soul
It's all about knowing what someone is feeling
The woman's got soul
The power of love and the power of healing
This life isn't fair
It's gonna get dark, it's gonna get cold
You've got to get tough, but that ain't enough
It's all about soulThere are people who have lost every trace of human kindness
There are many who have fallen, there are some who still survive
She comes to me at night and she tells me her desires
And she gives me all the love I need to keep my faith aliveIt's all about soul
It's all about joy that comes out of sorrow
It's all about soul
Who's standing now and who's standing tomorrow
You've got to be hard
Hard as the rock in that old rock 'n roll
But that's only part, you know in your heart
It's all about soul

Will you marry me??..hahaa..I have been an absolute Rush MEGAFAN (or lunatic!) for the past 25 years! I have seen them every tour since Signals, in 1982. I can quote, name, list, any Rush song in order, from which album..you name it! I saw them a few summers ago in Toronto. Neil Peart is the MOST AMAZING drummer in the world! He does a 30 minute drum solo..it just blows you away!
Now..cool news (from http://www.rush.com ) the guys are working on a new album, which should be out around Spring of 2006...a world tour to follow...plus a live triple DVD( called Rush R30 30th anniversaty Tour)of their last tour in November 2005, recorded in Germany in the summer of 2004...and Neil Peart is coming out with a new book (he has 3 out already..check out his website at http://www.neilpeart.net )
So am I a nut, or what? (And that rhymes...so roll the bones, eh?) :-)

I grew up with this music. It is in my soul. It is in my blood.
I have too many CD's to mention, including countless 80's compilations.
Music grows with me - every day, every year - but the 80's will stay with me forever.

good call concerning the musician question..yes, i'm a violinist...and sing, but that's pure karaoke material..no training there, although i don't sound too bad.:) i'd like to convince dr. bob to have the babble party at a bar w/ karioke! but why am i telling you this? anyways, wanna learn guitar when i get the chance..the presence of frets should make the transfer from violin very feasable..then i'd like to start writing my own music. thanks for asking.:) i'll try and have a perfect day.:-) (as your signature sign-off amiably dictates...)
your friend,;)
