So my 6 year old had decided a while back ( a few months ago) that he was definitely going to marry the local dentist daughter, Kelli.
Then yesterday, after school, he comes in and declares to me: " Mom,I can't take this anymore. We are done!"I said, " who is done?"
He says, " Me and kelli.. we are done. It's over."
I said, "Why?"
Him: " She put rocks in my pants on the playground. I can't marry a girl that treats me like that."
Oh my..
End of story.

Sounds like one of my relationships. Lasts about as long, too. : )

What a cutie, Mom!!! You know what they say; you must be doing something right, that kid has a great attitude. I'll bet you had the biggest grin on your face, I know my children have put one there many times ...

They can't learn early enough that relationships can be a little rocky...
I'm sorry, couldn't help myself.

Spriggy, I remember when mine were young. They could be so funny like yours. Fondly, Phillipa

We should just unabashedly tell people and post this stuff, because it gives such good, whole laughs to everybody who reads it. I mean, there's nothing sweeter to us than our little ones. It's true. It's why I wish I could be a new mother, again.
If it weren't for all the wear and tear on my body, and the eternal responsibility without a supportive loving caring giving partner just being too much to bear ... I'd do it again. I would. In a heartbeat, without even thinking much about it. Because the rewards that young children give us, and then as they grow into healthy mature and responsible adults, well, even if they don't, you know, the joys inherent in having them around ... there's just nothing else like it, really. imo

They are "on again."
Apparently, she shared some of her halloween candy with him at school and all is now forgotten.

Spriggy, you mean they let them bring candy to school? They wouldn't let us do that or my kids when they were young. Oh well. Fondly, Phillipa
