Anyone like board games? I used to play them with my daughter and still have a huge collection of rare games - many German.
Now that she's getting married I'm looking for something new the three of us can play. Some eurogames, like "Ticket for Ride" and "Settlers of Canaan"(or something like that) have my eye.
Heroquest is another. I think it's like D&D. I wish I had held on to "Dungeon" by TSR that came out in 1975. Long out of print and impossible to get now. It was a dumbed down Dungeons and Dragons for the causal player like me.
Any suggestions or ideas are welcome.

Yup, they make pretty good games :-)
(and wikipedia has a pretty good article on german boardgames)

You can play the US version online to see if you like it. Hmm.. Where is it??? I think it might be...

I really do like that game :-)I can't play 'cause of the firewall or something... But have played it at my mates house and it is a lot of fun.
Settlers of Catan? Yeah, that one is good. There is another that is pretty good too... Hmm... What is it... Carssacone (not sure how to spell that).

I haven't played that.
I haven't played these either but I like the sound of them:

I love board games!!!
I only know Canadian ones though. Scattgories is fun. So are Cranium, Milles Born. How I wish I had my games with me.
Card games are always fun.. I wish I remember the name of this one card game. Here, we can only get the cards at Christian Book stores. I have no idea why...

Speaking of card games, I just looked at "Tower Siege" and think it might be enjoyable.
I used to hang out at a Christian bookstore and seem to remember a popular card game, or, maybe it was pogs. I can't even remember what pogs are but it was the craze in the mid 90's.

Ah. It ain't so bad. It sounds harder than it is in fact. And... I don't know why on earth they thought 'simple programming skills' were required... I can't program... But then... I wasn't so good at RoboRally either. Kept 'programming' my bot into pits :-(
I started playing with a group from work. Officemate made a virtual board and we completed out turns via email. The game took... A year and a half.
:-)
Card games!
May I reccomend:
Killer Bunnies
and
Space Munchkins

Carcassonne, I think. That's a longtime favorite in my family. Lately we've played a lot of a card game called San Juan

Killer Bunnies looks crazy!!! I've never heard of it before.
What about Pigs and spoons? I have loads of card games, but I don't think anyone would recognize their names...
