Doc Bob...maybe this belongs in Admin...but do you need people to help organize for Toronto? I am one of the ones who lives near-by, and would like to help out. Please feel free to email me, too, if needed.

I did a little research on how to print a T-shirt (or pants or ?) and of course you can silkscreen, but you can also get this special transfer paper that lets you print an iron-on transfer with any ink-jet printer. So I think you just need to blow up an image, reverse it (since it's going to come out backward), print it on this special paper, then iron it onto the shirt. They have the stuff at CompUSA for only $16 a package. It's called 'cold peel transfer paper'. It all sounds do-able, but I haven't yet done any experimenting.
We could have Please Be Civil on the front, and maybe the web address of the site on the back. We'd be walking billboards for Dr Bob.

I love it but I want a tee-shirt. Would wearing it get us put away in a nice safe place? Fondly, Phillipa

I used to work in the promotional gear industry (sigh... one of how many jobs?) and think I can find a way to do this nice and inexpensively.
Thinking cap is being installed...

How about
'please be civil'
On the front and
'Thanks!'
On the back. You could even have matching
'*ss'
Pants for the bold (or something)
;-)

Promotional gewgaws, ey? Hmm, how about a coffee cup with Dr Bob's picture on it? That little picture at the bottom of the page would be good.

In reply to how 'bout 'I'm hanging on by a thread' ;-) (nm), posted by sleepygirl on December 4, 2005, at 20:24:12
I thought we could post all our ideas and cull out the ones that should end up on the shirt.
I'm thinking: t-shirt in same background colour as the babble page we see, with
Please Be Civil (in TImes New Roman type)
on the fronton the back, so far I thought of the photo of Dr Bob with the plug coming out of his head.
Not sure I would put the web address on it. Maybe "Dr Bob" under the picture of his head.
Maybe if we copy and paste this post and add our ideas to it we can generate a working design, and maybe be able to offer more than one design (if we can get it done at a reasonable price). I have a local company nearby from whom I can get pricing from and have the shirts shipped to 1) Toronto for the APA meeting, and 2) leftover back to me for reselling to Babblers who want them. Any profits could be turned around to contribute to the maintenance of the site.
Whaddaya say?

No bum pants tho... they were out so long ago and really... do you want everyone staring?
What really did it for me was when my school got those pants that said "GO BIG" on the bum. It was way too funny.

:-P
I'm guessing my tie-dye idea is not going to be practical?
LOL, I just had fun imagining everyone getting all messy tie-dying their Psycho-Babble T-shirts.
Would Dr. Bob participate? LOL I would like to see him have fun.

I've used this place a few times for t-shirts for charity events..
Its who we used for the t-shirts for Tube Relief. You can also have your designs on mugs, caps etc. Their postage is quick, and using somewhere like this means the rest of us who wouldn't be able to make Toronto would be able to buy something too!! I was a Please be Civil mug for work *grins*
Maybe Dr Bob could have some merchandise on there normally anyway! *G* You can have a number of different designs, so we could have a selection of our favourite Bob pictures as t-shirts, please be civil caps, and never mind the babble mugs *lL*
oooh.. I'm liking this idea. And Dr Bob could even use it to raise some money for the site!

I used the color picture of Bob and drew a white moustache across his smiling face. I added, "Got Babble?" underneath as in the milk advertisements. It was cute but the picture is so small it deteriorates when blown up. If I could find a larger picture of Bob, I think that his picture followed by "Babblicious" on the butt pants (or whatever they're called) would be a big seller. ; )

I'm sure Dr Bob has high res versions of the pictures he has put up.. so that would solve that problem!
I think it would be great tp be able to buy some babble merchandise!!
And like I say, I know they're a good company.. a friend uses them for stuff to sell on her website.. and theres no initial outley which is the best way!
